  • Honor hasn’t announced India availability yet.

2026 was clearly the year of the “big battery phone.” Ever since the Si-C wave of 7,000mAh batteries for flagships started late last year, we’ve only seen that graph going up. Realme recently launched phones with 10,001mAh batteries shortly after Honor announced its Win series would come with 10,000mAh cells. However, the company seems to be getting back ahead in the race with the Honor X80 Pro Max, which is set to launch in China on June 22nd with a huge 11,000mAh battery.

Ahead of the announcement, Honor has revealed several key details about the device, including what it claims is the largest battery ever fitted inside one of its smartphones.

Honor X80 Pro Max key details and specifications

The headline feature of the Honor X80 Pro Max is its 11,000mAh battery. Honor has confirmed support for 90W wired charging, while official promotional material also points to 27W wired reverse charging, allowing the phone to power accessories and other devices.

The smartphone is expected to feature a 6.8-inch OLED display with a 2788 x 1280 resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, and 3840Hz PWM dimming. According to tipster Digital Chat Station, the panel could also reach a claimed peak brightness of 10,000 nits, which would again be a first in the smartphone world, though real-world full-screen brightness is likely to be a more relevant metric for everyday use.

Powering the device is expected to be the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 chipset. While not a flagship processor, it suggests Honor is positioning the X80 Pro Max as a battery-focused upper mid-range device rather than a performance-centric flagship. Honor is also highlighting durability. The phone is tipped to carry IP66, IP68, IP69 and IP69K ratings for dust and water resistance, alongside enhanced drop protection. The company has additionally announced a complimentary screen replacement programme for eligible accidental damage cases during the coverage period.

Storage options listed online include 8GB + 128GB, 8GB + 256GB, 8GB + 512GB and 12GB + 512GB variants. Colour choices include Lightning Red, Black Armour, Moon Shadow White and Vitality Orange. From a design perspective, Honor appears to be following an industry trend that has seen brands adopt “Pro Max” branding for larger premium models. The circular rear camera module shown in teasers also bears similarities to designs used in Vivo’s flagship X-series devices.

India availability

Honor hasn’t announced plans to launch the X80 Pro Max in India yet. The company is expected to reveal pricing and market availability during the June 22nd launch event. If the device eventually reaches global markets, it could appeal to users who prioritise battery life above all else. For most buyers, however, the Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 chipset means the phone is likely to compete more with mid-range devices than true flagship smartphones.
