Humane AI pin features

The Humane AI pin is square-shaped with a camera and a large touchpad. You can pin it to your shirt in a way that you can reach it easily, and the angle’s good for scanning or taking photos.

You can have Chat GPT-like conversations with the AI pin, and ask questions like you would to Siri or Alexa. The AI pin is actually powered by OpenAI’s GPT-4 model.

The AI pin can be customised to notify you of calls and messages only from important contacts. It will still inform you of notifications from non-trusted contacts. If you want a summary of all your notifications, you can simply say “Catch me up” and the AI pin will tell you your calls and texts.

It can even compose text messages for you. You just need to give the details like the receiver’s name and gist of the message, the AI will craft it for you. You can check the final draft on your palm and choose to edit it before sending it. Also, you can not only ask it to play music but even generate a playlist for you.

13MP camera on the AI pin

There’s a 13MP camera with a 120-degree field-of-view on the AI pin. Double tap the touchpad with two fingers to take photos. You can also scan any object to learn more about it. You can check all your photos, videos and data from .Center that you can go to from any browser.

Humane gave examples of how you can tell the AI pin about your current diet goals. So you can use it to scan fruits and vegetables and answer questions about the sugar, calorie count. If you don’t trust your judgement at all you can ask the AI pin if you should eat something by holding it up.

Siri-like voice assistant, and touchpad on the AI pin

It’s voice-powered so all you have to do is hold the touchpad and use your voice to ask questions. If you hold it down with two fingers, it enables the interpreter. It can translate what you’re saying in different languages. You can use gestures like touch, tap and swipe to answer calls and control the volume.

Your hand doubles as the display

With the AI pin, you don’t need a smartphone as your palm doubles as the display. It projects a Laser Ink Display on your palm where you can check out menus, experiences and more. You can tilt and roll your hand to interact with the display. If you want to make a decision, you have to close your fingers. All messages and calls will also be visible on this display.
