Infinix GT 30 5G+ launches in India with MediaTek Dimensity 7400, 5,500mAh battery, and dedicated gaming features

Infinix GT 30 5G+ has been launched in India today as a new gaming-centric smartphone. The handset has been designed with gamers in mind, and it’s quite evident from the design. The Infinix GT 30 5G+ features the brand’s signature Cyber Mecha Design 2.0, which boasts customisable white LED lights. The new handset is an affordable alternative to the Infinix GT 30 Pro, which was launched at Rs 24,999 recently. The Infinix GT 30 has a starting price of Rs 19,499.

The GT 30 5G+ carries Infinix’s Cyber Mecha Design 2.0, complete with four customisable white LED lights on the back. These can be programmed for incoming calls, notifications, and more, with three lighting patterns to choose from. Available in Pulse Green, Cyber Blue, and Blade White, the latter offers a subtler aesthetic for those who prefer a toned-down look.

Physical GT Shoulder Triggers on the frame give players console-style controls for gaming, camera functions, or quick app launches. The phone also supports BGMI 90 FPS gameplay, paired with AI-powered gaming tools like MagicVoice Changer, ZoneTouch Master for touch optimisation, and dedicated Esports and Performance modes.

Powering the phone is the MediaTek Dimensity 7400, a chipset found in phones priced under Rs 20,000 like the iQOO Z10R and Realme Narzo 80 Pro. Infinix says that the phone has achieved a 779,000 AnTuTu score, which would be the highest in this segment, at least according to benchmark tests conducted in-house. We’ll be testing the phone to see whether the device meets Infinix’s claims and to evaluate its real-world performance.

The Infinix GT 30 5G+ has a 6.78-inch 1.5K (1224×2720) AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate, Gorilla Glass 7i protection, and up to 240Hz touch sampling rate. The display can achieve 4,500 nits peak brightness, 1600 nits in high brightness mode, and 700 nits typical brightness. Based on these numbers, the phone should get sufficiently bright indoors and outdoors.

You get a dual-camera setup with a 64MP Sony IMX682 primary camera and an 8MP ultra-wide camera at the back. There’s a 13MP front camera for selfies. This camera setup seems quite decent for this price segment. You also get camera features such as 4K video recording on the front and rear cameras, AI Eraser, AI Extender, and AI cutout for photos.

On the software front, the Infinix GT 30 runs XOS 15 based on Android 15 out of the box. The handset will get two years of OS updates and three years of security patches, on par with what rival phones offer in this segment. There are several AI features available, including AI Call Assistant, AI Writing Assistant, Folax AI Voice Assistant, and Circle to Search.

The handset packs a 5,500mAh battery with 45W fast charging support. It also comes with bypass charging, a feature that helps in reducing heat when gaming while the phone is plugged in. Infinix says you can get 10+ hours of BGMI, 20+ hours of YouTube, and 12+ hours of Google Maps on the GT 30. The handset is equipped with a 5400mm2 3D vapour chamber cooling system, designed to enhance heat dissipation during gaming.

With the Infinix GT 30 5G+, you also get an IP64 dust and water resistance, dual speakers with high-res audio, and walkie-talkie calls without network connectivity.

Who is Infinix GT 30 5G+ for?

The Infinix GT 30 5G+ is aimed squarely at mobile gamers who want high refresh rates, customisable LED lighting, and features like vapour cooling and physical gaming triggers, all without spending more than Rs 20,000. The combination of the Dimensity 8300 processor, 1.5K 144Hz AMOLED display, and 90 FPS support in BGMI makes it one of the more performance-focused phones in its price band.

However, it’s not trying to be an all-rounder. The camera setup, while serviceable, might not be able to compete with the likes of Redmi Note 14 Pro or Realme 14 Pro+ in photography, and the phone’s bold design may not appeal to regular, non-gaming users.
