Motorola Edge 70 Fusion leaked renders suggest no change in design
Just last week, the Motorola Edge 70 Fusion’s complete spec sheet leaked online. Now, the smartphone’s renders have been leaked, giving us a good look at the phone’s design. Not much of a surprise here, as Motorola seems to be continuing with the same design for the Edge 70 Fusion. This handset will succeed the Motorola Edge 60 Fusion, which is the most affordable model in the Edge lineup, alongside the Edge 60 Stylus. If Motorola continues with the same pricing, then the Edge 70 Fusion would sit under Rs 25,000.
According to renders of the Motorola Edge 70 Fusion shared by YTECHB, the smartphone is seen featuring the familiar square-shaped camera module, curved display, and leather finish. This means that we may not see any changes in design compared to the Edge 60 Fusion. The Edge 70 Fusion will reportedly launch in five colours: Blue Surf, Country Air, Orient Blue, Sporting Green, and Silhouette. These will most likely be Pantone colours. The back panel is also said to have a “nylon and linen-inspired” finish.

The leaked renders show us a familiar design for the Motorola Edge 70. While that isn’t necessarily bad, it might feel uninspiring to new buyers who have been waiting for some change in terms of design with the Edge series.
As for its specifications, the Motorola Edge 70 Fusion is tipped to be powered by the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 SoC, which is a decent chipset in the mid-range segment. We should still wait and see how much of an improvement it brings over the MediaTek Dimensity 7400-powered Edge 60 Fusion. Up front could be a 6.78-inch quad-curved OLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 5,200 nits, notably higher than the Edge 60 Fusion’s 4,500 nits panel. The smartphone is also confirmed to come with HDR10+ support and Gorilla Glass 7i protection. With a 144Hz refresh rate and brighter display, the Edge 70 Fusion should be better for gaming and usability outdoors.
The Edge 70 Fusion is said to ship with Android 16 and receive three years of OS updates, which is the same as the previous model. Software support might seem less against phones like the Redmi Note 15, which offer 4 years of OS upgrades and 6 years of security patches.
Cameras might not see major upgrades as the Edge 70 Fusion is said to house a 50MP Sony Lytia primary sensor and a 32MP front camera, similar to the Edge 60 Fusion. There are still upgrades expected with software dedicated to camera features.
We might see the most meaningful upgrade in the battery department as the Edge 70 Fusion could pack a massive 7,000mAh battery, bigger than the Edge 60 Fusion’s 5,500mAh battery. This would make the Edge 70 Fusion a good pick for anyone who prioritises battery life, especially gamers and heavy users.
So far, the Motorola Edge 70 Fusion is turning out to be a decent mid-range smartphone with a large battery. If Motorola continues with a similar pricing, then the Edge 70 might be able to stake its claim in the mid-range segment, as most brands are hiking prices for new smartphones. Still, anyone planning to upgrade should wait and see how the Edge 70 Fusion actually performs in real-world scenarios.
