Update: Motorola has reportedly teased the launch of a new Edge series phone in India. This smartphone is believed to be the Motorola Edge 70 Fusion. The colour options teased match the leaked images of the Edge 70 Fusion, further adding to the speculation.
Original story follows
The Motorola Edge 70 Fusion could be the brand’s next mid-range smartphone as leaks continue to surface. Just last week, leaked marketing images of the Edge 70 Fusion revealed the phone’s design and its specifications were tipped as well. A newly surfaced marketing image may have finally put to rest the biggest lingering question about the device.
Fresh promotional material shared by YTECHB appears to confirm that the phone will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 processor. That’s a notable development because earlier leaks had pointed to the older Snapdragon 7s Gen 3. A recent Geekbench listing had already hinted that Motorola might be using the newer chip, and this image now strengthens that possibility. The 7s Gen 4 platform is expected to bring improved efficiency, slightly stronger GPU performance, and better AI processing compared to its predecessor. In real-world use, that could mean smoother multitasking, more stable gaming performance, and improved image processing for photos and videos.
The same image also highlights 12GB of RAM, which could be the top-end model. Rumors indicate that an 8GB model may also be available.
Beyond the chipset, the Edge 70 Fusion is expected to feature a 6.78-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with HDR10+ support, Gorilla Glass 7i protection, and a 144Hz refresh rate. A 144Hz refresh rate is a big upgrade over the Edge 60 Fusion, and it would appeal to gamers and users who value fluid scrolling and animations. The claimed peak brightness of 5,200 nits suggests the panel should perform well outdoors and during high-contrast video playback. It’s also higher than the Edge 60 Fusion’s 4,500 nits peak brightness.
A 50MP primary rear sensor is tipped along with a 32MP front-facing camera for the Motorola Edge 70 Fusion. It will most likely be a dual-camera setup. However, without mention of a telephoto lens, zoom flexibility may remain limited compared to some similarly priced competitors.
Battery life is shaping up to be one of the standout features of the Edge 70 Fusion. The device is tipped to pack a sizeable 7,000mAh battery paired with 68W fast charging support, a combination that signals a clear focus on endurance. With several brands now pushing toward the 7,000mAh mark in this segment, Motorola aligning with the trend ensures it remains competitive on a spec that increasingly matters to buyers.
If these specifications hold and Motorola prices the Edge 70 Fusion competitively, it could emerge as a well-rounded option in the mid-range segment. The newer chipset, high-refresh-rate display, and large battery position it as a balanced choice for users who prioritise smooth performance and endurance over niche features like dedicated zoom cameras.
Ultimately, pricing will determine how compelling the package truly is, but on paper, the Edge 70 Fusion appears to be shaping up as a meaningful step forward rather than a routine refresh.
