Just as most smartphone brands in India are pushing prices up, Motorola may be preparing to go the other way. Tipster Abhishek Yadav has shared on X what seems like a market communication from Motorola suggesting price drops on the Motorola Edge 70 and Moto G67 Power from March 1st. We’ve not received any official word from the company on this but the Edge 70 is indeed selling at the reduced price.
The document shows the Motorola Edge 70 listed at Rs 29,999, down from Rs 32,999, while the Moto G67 Power (8GB + 128GB) is shown at Rs 16,999, reduced by Rs 1,000 from Rs 17,999. We checked Flipkart for the retail prices of both phones and they were indeed discounted.
The reported cuts come at a time when virtually all brands — Nothing, POCO, Redmi, Vivo, iQOO, Realme, Samsung and OnePlus — are raising prices with open declarations that rising memory component costs are driving the surge. That makes Motorola’s reported move stand out. Whether it is clearing inventory or making the most of the opportunity as competition gets expensive, the timing works in their favour. Buyers are definitely not enjoying rising prices, and even limited cuts can shift interest towards more affordable options.
If the revised pricing holds, the Edge 70 at Rs 29,999 becomes a competitive option in the sub-Rs 30,000 bracket, where it faces devices like Redmi Note 15 Pro and Vivo T4 Pro. Many of the phones in this segment emphasise faster charging or gaming performance, while Motorola leans on its ultra-slim design, clean software and a near-stock Android experience.
The Moto G67 Power at Rs 16,999 would sit in the crowded budget segment alongside Redmi, Realme and Samsung Galaxy M-series devices. Its appeal lies in its 7,000mAh battery and a clutter-free interface rather than aggressive specifications. For buyers already considering these models, it’s worth checking current listings and store prices to see if the reductions are available in their area. The Edge 70 under Rs 30,000 could be a strong option for users who value clean software and dependable performance. That said, those prioritising gaming power, faster charging, or the latest chipsets should still compare alternatives.
