Motorola G Max India launch tipped for mid-August; could come with Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 at around Rs 30,000
Motorola could soon expand its G-series portfolio in India with a new mid-range smartphone. According to tipster Abhishek Yadav, the Motorola G Max is expected to launch in the country around August 15th with a different spec sheet from the version that debuted in Brazil in June.
The leak also suggests the phone could be priced at around Rs 30,000, putting it slightly above the recently launched Moto G77 Power in Motorola’s India lineup.

Motorola G Max India specifications tipped
As per the tipster, the Indian variant of the Moto G Max will be powered by the Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 chipset, paired with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 3.1 storage. It’s also said to feature a 50MP Sony LYT-600 primary rear camera. Motorola is said to offer two major Android OS upgrades along with three years of security updates, which is the bare minimum brands offer nowadays in terms of software support.
The Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 is not entirely new. It previously debuted in the Moto G57 Power, which launched in November 2025 with a starting price of Rs 14,999 for the 8GB + 128GB variant. That phone also featured the same 50MP primary camera. The Redmi Note 17 Pro that launched in China also uses the same chipset.
These leaked specifications indicate that the Indian Moto G Max could differ significantly from the version launched in Brazil in June. The Brazilian model is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6400 chipset and includes 8GB RAM with 256GB storage. Its standout feature is a 200MP primary camera with OIS, accompanied by a 8MP ultrawide camera and a 32MP selfie shooter. The phone also packs a 5,200mAh battery with 33W charging, runs Android 16 with Hello UI, and carries IP66, IP68, IP69, and MIL-STD-810H durability certifications. In Brazil, it was introduced at BRL 2,519.10 (around Rs 47,000). Since the Indian leak points to a different chipset and camera hardware, Motorola may also tweak other specifications to better suit local pricing and positioning.
At around Rs 30,000, the Moto G Max would enter a segment where the Motorola Edge 70 Fusion already competes. The tipped LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 3.1 storage are promising additions, but the Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 is already available in a much more affordable Motorola phone, which could make performance alone a less compelling reason to upgrade.
The final verdict will depend on the rest of the package, including the display, battery capacity and charging speeds. If Motorola retains premium features from the Brazilian model, such as the high-quality AMOLED display and strong durability ratings, the Moto G Max could offer a more balanced experience than many rivals.
