Motorola Razr 70 Ultra, Razr 70 Plus and Razr 70 debut globally as the latest flip foldables
After a series of leaks and rumours, Motorola has officially unveiled its latest lineup of foldables: the Razr 70, Razr 70 Plus, and Razr 70 Ultra. This time, Motorola has introduced three flip-style foldables in select global markets, including the US, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Latin America. Motorola is expected to launch the Razr 70 series in India as well, since the company has a wide portfolio of foldables here. The new Razr 70 lineup all follow a similar design language, but differ in key areas like display, cameras, and processor.

Motorola Razr 70, Razr 70 Plus specifications, features
The Razr 70 is the youngest sibling in the trio and shares similarities with the middle child, the Razr 70 Plus (Razr 70+). The internal display is the same on both phones, which is a 6.96-inch FHD+ pOLED LTPO panel with 1-120Hz adaptive refresh rate, and up to 3,000 nits peak brightness. The Razr 70 Plus houses a larger 4-inch pOLED LTPS cover display with a 165Hz refresh rate and up to 1700 nits peak brightness. The Razr 70 sticks to a smaller 3.63-inch QuickView pOLED LTPS display with a 90Hz refresh rate and up to 1,700 nits peak brightness. Powering the Razr 70 is the MediaTek Dimensity 7450X, while the Razr 70 Plus uses the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 SoC. This means that the Plus model would be more powerful in terms of performance, but the Razr 70 should still be capable of regular to moderate tasks. Both foldables feature the same camera setup: 50MP main camera with OIS, a 50MP ultra-wide camera with macro mode, and a 32MP front camera on the interior display. Since the rear cameras are on the cover display, you get good flexibility to shoot selfies and videos in different styles.
Battery is where things get interesting as the Razr 70 houses a slightly larger 4,800mAh battery than the Razr 70 Plus’s 4,500mAh unit. It has a 4-inch QuickView pOLED LTPO cover display, again with 1-165Hz refresh rate, up to 3,000 nits peak brightness, and Gorilla Glass Ceramic protection. This is one of the best display specs you can get on a flip-style foldable, ensuring vibrancy, smooth scrolling, and adequate brightness.
The Razr 70 Ultra is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite, which is the older flagship chipset, but still faster than most new processors in the market. The foldable also packs a sizeable 5,000mAh battery with 68W TurboPower fast charging and 30W wireless charging support. Although modest, this battery capacity is still typical for flip-style foldables. For optics, you get a 50MP main camera with OIS, a 50MP ultra-wide camera, and a 50MP front camera.

Motorola Razr 70 series pricing and availability
For now, Motorola has revealed only the US pricing of its foldables. The Razr Ultra (Razr 70 Ultra) is priced at $1,499.99 (Rs 142,500 approx), the Razr+ (Razr 70 Plus) at $1,099.99 (Rs 104,725 approx), and the Razr 2026 (Razr 70) at $799.99 (Rs 76,200 approx). The new Razr lineup will be available in the US starting May 21st, and in the other regions in the coming months.

There has been a price hike across the lineup. This was expected, given the ongoing crisis in the smartphone industry, which has been exacerbated by a surge in component costs. However, it would place Motorola’s Razr 70 lineup in a more premium segment, especially the standard model, which previously stood out as one of the more affordable options in the foldable category.
If and when the Razr 70 lineup arrives in India, buyers would have more options for a clamshell-style foldable phone. Motorola is known to offer possibly the most interactive and useful cover displays on a flip foldable, so that’s an advantage for the brand. The Razr 70 is recommended for those who want to upgrade to a clamshell-style foldable, while the Razr 70 Ultra is for people who want the most premium features and flagship performance. However, those who currently own the Razr 60 series may want to wait for reviews to see if the upgrade is worthwhile.
