Motorola Razr 70 Ultra surfaces in official press renders, design fully revealed
Motorola’s next foldable launch could be right around the corner, based on the continuous flurry of leaks. It’s also rumoured that the Razr 70 series could debut on April 29th, but there’s no official confirmation yet. We’ve already come across leaked renders of the Motorola Razr 70 and Razr 70 Ultra. And now, newly surfaced press renders of the Razr 70 Ultra give us a better look at the upcoming foldable. The familiar clamshell form factor remains intact, with a large edge-to-edge cover display wrapping around dual rear cameras and a clean inner screen featuring a punch-hole selfie camera.

Evan Blass shared a series of what look like press renders of the upcoming Motorola Razr 70 Ultra. Two new colourways, reportedly dubbed Orient Blue Alcantara and Pantone Cocoa Wood, suggest Motorola is experimenting with finishes as much as colour. One variant combines a soft-touch, fabric-like back with a purple hue, while the other leans into a wood-inspired aesthetic with earthy brown tones. This seems like an attempt to differentiate in a market where many foldables still offer limited options.

The hinge mechanism, often the weak point in foldables, is also getting attention. Close-up shots indicate a more refined internal structure, though real-world durability improvements will only be clear after hands-on testing.
Motorola Razr 70 Ultra specifications: what to expect
The outer display is expected to remain around 4 inches, continuing Motorola’s lead in usable cover screens compared to rivals. For context, many competing flip phones still limit what you can do without opening the device, whereas Motorola’s approach treats the outer display almost like a second primary screen.
Camera hardware is said to include dual 50MP sensors, which would be a familiar setup. That likely means incremental improvements rather than a leap forward. We could see AI-powered enhancements for photography.
Under the hood is where the Razr 70 Ultra could make its strongest case. The device is rumored to run on Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, paired with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. That would firmly place it in flagship territory, addressing one of the longstanding criticisms of flip-style foldables: compromised performance. However, it is also reported that the Razr 70 Ultra could be powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3, which would be a downgrade compared to the Razr 60 Ultra. But the more premium Razr Fold uses the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5, Motorola might stick to a flagship-level chipset.
Battery capacity is also getting a slight bump to 5,000mAh, up from 4,700mAh in its predecessor. That’s a notable increase for a foldable of this size and could translate to better all-day reliability. Charging speeds, however, are expected to remain at 68W, which is fast but unchanged.
If you’re familiar with last year’s Razr lineup, this update looks more iterative than transformative. Compared to its predecessor, the Razr 70 Ultra offers a slightly better battery life, newer silicon, and more distinctive finishes, but largely the same core experience. Based on what we know so far, the Razr 70 Ultra makes sense if you’re using an older flip-style foldable and want to upgrade to the latest model. However, if you already own the Razr 60 Ultra model, the improvements may not justify an upgrade unless battery life or performance is a pain point.
