Just a day after confirming the Nothing Phone (4a) series launch on March 5th at an event in London, UK, a dedicated microsite for the upcoming smartphones has gone live on e-commerce platform Flipkart. The handset will launch in India on the same day at 04:00 pm local time. Sadly, it doesn’t reveal anything about the upcoming lineup, which will include Phone (4a) and Phone (4a) Pro, other than their availability on the platform.
That said, a separate leak has now revealed key specifications, pricing details and colour options for the upcoming devices. According to a report by French publication Dealabs, the Nothing Phone (4a) and Phone (4a) Pro will feature a new triple-camera setup, retain the brand’s transparent design with the signature Glyph interface, offer displays with refresh rates of up to 144Hz, and support zoom capabilities claimed to reach as high as 144x.
All these improvements are said to come with increased pricing. The report adds that the Phone (4a) could be costlier than its predecessor, (3a), by Euro 50 (~Rs 5,400), while the Phone (4a) Pro price could be hiked by Euro 90 (~Rs 9,660).
| Smartphone | Configuration | Price |
| Nothing Phone (4a) | 8GB + 256GB | Euro 409 (~Rs 44,000) |
| Nothing Phone (4a) | 12GB + 256GB | Euro 449 (~Rs 48,200) |
| Nothing Phone (4a) Pro | 8GB + 128GB | Euro 499 (~Rs 53,500) |
| Nothing Phone (4a) Pro | 12GB + 256GB | Euro 569 (~Rs 61,000) |
These are the expected pricing of the Nothing Phone (4a) series in France, Germany, and Spain. It could vary depending on other European markets, such as Germany and Spain, where the smartphones are expected to be around Euro 20 (~Rs 2,150) cheaper.
The handsets will reportedly be available in a variety of shades. The Phone (4a) is said to come in Black and White colours across variants, while the Pink and Blue could be reserved for the 12GB variant. Similarly, the Nothing Phone (4a) Pro’s Pink colour option will be exclusive to the top-end 12GB RAM variant, whereas Silver and Black will be universal. Besides the colour options, the smartphones’ sale dates are also expected to differ. The Nothing Phone (4a) is said to go on sale in the aforementioned markets from March 12th onwards, and the Phone (4a) Pro could arrive a little later, around March 26th.
We don’t know yet if the smartphones will hit the Indian market with similar pricing. That said, Carl Pei has already warned of price hikes, so expect the Nothing Phone (4a) series to be pricier than its predecessor. To recall, the Phone (3a) series was launched in India starting at Rs 24,999. Given current industry conditions, including elevated component costs and broader inflationary pressures, a hike of roughly 15–20 per cent would not be surprising. If that holds true, the vanilla Phone (4a) could cost somewhere around Rs 30,000, while its Pro mode may retail for around Rs 35,000.
The Nothing Phone (4a) and Phone (4a) Pro are both reported to get some meaningful refinements. Per the report, the regular smartphone will feature a triple rear camera setup, with a 50MP camera, support for a 0.6x ultrawide lens, and 70x zooming capabilities. Up front, the handset is likely to feature a 32MP snapper, which is identical to its predecessor.
As for the design, the Nothing Phone (4a) is expected to continue Nothing’s transparent aesthetics, but with softer curves and a redesigned Glyph Bar composed of 63 mini LEDs for alerts and lighting effects. Unfortunately, we don’t have visuals of what the phone will look like yet.
Display improvements are also anticipated on the regular model. The Nothing Phone (3a) is rumoured to feature a 6.78-inch 1.5K AMOLED panel with adaptive refresh rates ranging from 30Hz to 120Hz. The handset will also see improvements in battery. While the exact capacity remains under wraps, it is expected to be backed by 50W charging capabilities.
Moving on, a recent Geekbench listing of the phone allegedly reveals a Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 SoC ticking at its core. This is the same chipset that powers the Redmi Note 15 Pro+ (review), which was a decent performer in our review.
As for the Nothing Phone (4a) Pro, it could feature an upgraded camera setup, comprising a 50MP Sony primary sensor with OIS, alongside zoom capabilities claimed to reach up to 140x. The versatility and the improvement in hardware, if true, should make the smartphone an appealing buy for camera enthusiasts.
The handset is tipped to feature a unibody aluminium frame and provide a better thermal management than its predecessor. The smartphone will also reportedly feature upgrades in display, with a 6.83-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate. This should ensure smoother scrolling and animation than its predecessor, which was capped at 120Hz.
The visual of the Phone (4a) Pro’s design is not available yet, but if the report is anything to go by, it could come with a new Glyph Matrix lighting system, possibly similar to the Nothing Phone (3).
That is all the information available at the moment. That said, it is best to treat these details with caution, as Nothing has officially confirmed anything about its upcoming devices. So far, the company has only shared a teaser image showing an old telephone hanging by its cord.
The teaser has sparked speculation that the Phone (4a) series could draw inspiration from vintage rotary-dial telephones. Building on that idea, an X user going by the name CID has shared concept renders imagining the Nothing Phone (4a) with a rotary dial design integrated around the rear camera module. However, these remain all conjecture. If you are considering buying the Nothing Phone (4a) series, it would be wise to wait for more concrete details to emerge before making a decision.
