OnePlus 12 has been launched as the company’s new flagship phone in China, which comes as a successor to the OnePlus 11. It is worth mentioning that the OnePlus 11 was launched in India in February this year. Meanwhile, the OnePlus 12 will likely be launched in the country in January 2024.

OnePlus 12 vs OnePlus 11: price, colours

In China, the OnePlus 12 is priced at CNY 4,299 (approx Rs 50,600) for the 12GB+256GB of storage. There is also a variant with 16GB+512GB storage, priced at CNY 4,799 (approx Rs 56,500). The 16GB+1TB storage and 24GB+1TB storage, are available at CNY 5,299 (approx Rs 62,400) and CNY 5,799 (approx Rs 68,200), respectively. The India prices of these variants will be revealed once they are launched in India.

On the other hand, the OnePlus 11 was unveiled at CNY 3,999 (approx Rs 48,000) for the 12GB+256GB version, CNY 4,399 (around Rs 52,900) for the 16GB+256GB model, and CNY 4,899 (approx Rs 59,000) for the 16GB+512GB model. Meanwhile, it was launched in India at Rs 56,999 for the 8GB+128GB model and Rs 61,999 for the 16GB+256GB variant.

The OnePlus 12 has been launched in three colour options – Green, Black, and White. In comparison, the OnePlus 11 was launched in Titan Black and Eternal Green colour options.

OnePlus 12 vs OnePlus 11: display and design

The OnePlus 12 features a 6.82-inch QHD+ 2K OLED LTPO display with up to 120Hz refresh rate and up to 4,500 nits of peak brightness, which is said to be the highest ever on a phone. On the other hand, the OnePlus 11 offers a 6.7-inch QHD+ E4 2.75D flexible curved OLED LTPO 3.0 display with up to 120Hz refresh rate and 1,300 nits peak brightness.

The OnePlus 12 design maintains continuity with the OnePlus 11 while introducing purposeful refinements. Notably, the alert slider has been relocated from the right to the left side as compared to the OnePlus 11.

The OnePlus 12 is equipped with the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, while the OnePlus 11 runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset. According to Qualcomm, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 is expected to be 30 percent faster than its predecessor, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2.

In comparison, the OnePlus 11 5G features a 50MP Sony IMX890 sensor with OIS, a 48MP Sony IMX581 ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 32MP Sony IMX709 RGBW 2x telephoto camera.

The OnePlus 12 offers an IP65 rating and the OnePlus 11 has an IP64 rating. Both ratings signify effective defense against dust and solid particle ingress. However, the IP65 rating offers a higher degree of liquid resistance compared to IP64. While IP64 protects against water splashes from any direction, IP65 goes a step further by safeguarding against water jets projected by a nozzle.
