We are still a long way from the OnePlus 13 launch but this new slew of rumours has got us excited! OnePlus 13 could potentially debut as the first Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 phone in the world. Not only that, the phone could feature an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner under the display. But, it may not be Qualcomm’s 3D Sonic Sensor, as you may think. Here is what we know:
OnePlus 13 chip rumours
As per tipster Smart Pikachu on Weibo, the OnePlus 13 could debut a Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset.
A few days back, we heard that the next-gen Snapdragon chip will launch in October 2024. This came from the company’s CMO. Well, its predecessor also came out the same month last year. So, it seems to be on schedule.
Meanwhile, the 8 Gen 4 is said to be based on TSMC’s 3nm process and could bring Adreno 830 GPU and new performance cores, namely Oryon CPU cores. A tipster named Revengus claims the chip could clock a top frequency of 4GHz. That would be a leap from 8 Gen 3’s 3.30GHz top clock speed.
Going with the AI trend, the chip will feature a new neural engine that would mark the “evolution” of the company’s NPU journey. So, the OnePlus 13 could sport on-device AI capabilities like the Samsung Galaxy S24 series and Pixel 8 series.

Based on a post by tipster DigitalChatStation on Weibo, we suppose the OnePlus 13 could feature an ultrasonic fingerprint reader. But, it isn’t clear from his post whether we should expect Qualcomm sensors or the cheaper Goodix sensors.
In related news, the tipster Smart Pikachu has claimed the OnePlus Ace 3V (or OnePlus Nord 3) could come with a 1.5K display with a blue-light filter, a 5,500mAh battery with 100W fast charging support, and a new Snapdragon 7 series chipset. That chip could be Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 coupled with up to 16GB of RAM.
