OnePlus unveiled the OnePlus 15T in a livestream, giving the world its first look at the company’s next compact phone, per a report from ithome.com. The brand calls it a “small-screen powerhouse,” and it will launch this month in three colours: Pure Cocoa, Relaxing Matcha, and Healing White Chocolate.

Design and colours

The Healing White Chocolate (Chinese translation) variant is the highlighted colour and uses a micro-arc oxidation process to get an all-white finish across both the metal frame and glass back. OnePlus says this makes it the only all-white small-screen phone available right now, and the process is expensive to pull off. The Pure Cocoa and Relaxing Matcha (Chinese translations) variants use AG frosted glass that resists fingerprints, with the frame and back panel joining seamlessly for a clean look.

The phone is 71.82mm wide, weighs 194g, and is said to have a 50:50 weight distribution so it does not feel top-heavy. The camera module uses a metal cube design that sits close to the body and does not stick out much. A lightweight design and these new colour choices could help the phone stand out from its competition.

OnePlus 15T: what we know so far

As per a recent report, the new OnePlus 15T has ultra-narrow bezels measuring 1.xx mm on all sides. The brand also claims to offer the visually narrowest bezels among small-screen phones. For a compact phone, that matters more than it does on a larger device, as thinner bezels help make up for the smaller screen size by maximising the display area you actually see.

The OnePlus 15T has reportedly appeared on AnTuTu with a score of 4,455,423, suggesting top-tier performance. The phone is likely to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, Qualcomm’s latest flagship chipset. If the India variant delivers similar results, it would be one of the strongest performers in its price segment.

It packs a 7,500mAh battery, which is a significant jump over the 6,260mAh cell in the OnePlus 13T and larger than the flagship OnePlus 15. The device also comes with support for 100W wired fast charging, 50W wireless charging, and bypass charging.

The phone is also tipped to support Apple’s MagSafe wireless charging ecosystem, along with an ultra-thin magnetic cooling accessory that snaps onto the back for heat management during gaming or intensive use.

A major upgrade on the 15T is the new LUMO periscope telephoto lens, which OnePlus claims brings improvements to optical hardware, algorithms, and tuning for sharper distant shots and better portrait results. The camera setup could include a 50MP primary camera, a 50MP periscope telephoto lens, and a 32MP front camera.

The ithome report also shares that the phone could feature a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, IP66/IP68/IP69/IP69K water resistance, and a magnetic accessory ecosystem covering cases, chargers, and heat sinks. The OnePlus 15T is confirmed for release in China this month.

In India, the OnePlus 15T is likely to arrive as the OnePlus 15s, though a launch date has not been confirmed yet. The OnePlus 13s (review) was one of the more popular smartphones in its segment last year, so a follow-up makes sense. If the 15s carries over the same specs, it would be a great option for anyone who wants flagship performance and a big battery without the bulk of a larger phone.
