OnePlus has confirmed that the OnePlus 15T will launch in China on March 24th at 7 pm local time (4.30 pm IST), putting a date to its next compact flagship after weeks of teasers. Alongside the launch date, the company has also revealed the full set of configurations and phone is up for pre-orders. The phone will be available in five variants: 12GB RAM with 256GB or 512GB storage, and 16GB RAM with 256GB, 512GB, or 1TB storage. That’s more flexibility than most compact phones offer, where options are usually limited to two or three trims.

OnePlus is trying to position the 15T as an all-round compact device without trading off on battery size or performance. The 6.32-inch OLED display with a 165Hz refresh rate, Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chip, and the company’s tri-chip performance system all point in that direction.

With a 7,500mAh battery, the 15T goes beyond what even many larger flagships offer. Compact rivals like the OPPO Reno 15 Pro Mini, Vivo X300, and Samsung’s Galaxy S26 tend to prioritise slimmer builds and camera tuning, but usually ship with smaller batteries. Charging support includes 100W wired and 50W wireless, along with bypass charging, which is increasingly relevant for gaming use. The company is also claiming support for up to 165 fps gameplay, though how that translates outside controlled demos remains to be seen.

On the camera side, the addition of a 3.5x LUMO periscope telephoto lens is a practical upgrade over the previous model, which lacked one, besides the 50MP main camera and 32MP front camera. It brings the 15T closer to what buyers now expect at this level, especially as zoom performance has become a key differentiator even in compact phones.

The phone’s design has been revealed and it’ll come in Pure Cocoa, Relaxing Matcha, and Healing White Chocolate finishes, with different materials and coatings aimed at reducing fingerprints or offering a uniform look. It also includes an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor and IP66, IP68, and IP69 ratings.

If the OnePlus 15T is priced close to other compact flagships, its larger battery and performance focus could make it a more practical choice for users who value longevity over slimness. At the same time, those prioritising camera tuning or a lighter build may still lean towards alternatives from OPPO, Vivo, or Samsung. If the phone makes its way to India, likely under the OnePlus 15s name going by past launches, it could appeal to users who want flagship-level performance in a smaller size without the usual compromises around battery life.
