OnePlus 16 launch timeline (expected)

Tipster Digital Chat Station has given an update on an upcoming Android flagship, believed to be the OnePlus 16. The handset is said to continue with the OnePlus design language and no major changes, which means we’ll most likely get to see the OnePlus 16 in a familiar look. The OnePlus 16 is also tipped to feature a 6.87-inch flat LIPO display with very thin bezels and use the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro flagship chipset. It’s speculated that the bezels will measure less than 1mm, which would mean a highly immersive viewing experience. Moreover, the OnePlus 16’s display is expected to feature up to a 185Hz refresh rate, so the scrolling experience and animations would be ultra-smooth.

More importantly, the OnePlus 16 is tipped to launch in October. This is the same timeline as the OnePlus 15 launch in China last year.

The tipster, through a comment on the post, also reiterated that the OnePlus 16 will house a battery size of around 9,000mAh with 100W wired and 50W wireless charging. If true, this would be the biggest on a OnePlus phone yet. More rumoured specs include a new 200MP primary camera, a 50MP ultra-wide lens, and a 50MP periscope telephoto camera.

With a launch tipped for October, we’re only two to three months away from the OnePlus 16 launch. This Android flagship could be worth waiting for as the hardware seems quite promising. You’re getting a premium display with ultra-thin bezels, a flagship chipset, reliable cameras, and one of the largest batteries. OnePlus 16 could turn out to be the ultimate flagship phone without any compromises in key areas.
