OnePlus 16 India launch tipped again; phone reportedly being tested internally
OnePlus 16 India launch rumours have been taking shape, with leaks suggesting it is indeed coming here. Earlier this year, it was speculated that OnePlus wouldn’t be bringing its flagship to India this time amid news about the company’s dying operations in other markets. A new leak talks about the OnePlus 16 India launch again, with testing reportedly being done internally.
OnePlus 16 being tested in India
According to tipster Abhishek Yadav, OnePlus reportedly held a meeting in Mumbai about the OnePlus 16 India launch. The tipster added that the phone is being tested privately, behind closed doors. This adds to the ongoing speculation that OnePlus is indeed bringing its flagship phone to India. It’s not the first we’re hearing about the OnePlus 16 being tested in India, as the same tipster had revealed this last month.

The OnePlus 16 India launch was mentioned in a separate leak too, with its pricing tipped to be much higher than its predecessor, the OnePlus 15. Pricing is tipped to fall between Rs 1.3 lakh and Rs 1.4 lakh in India for the OnePlus 16. This isn’t surprising, considering the ongoing RAM crisis causing prices to skyrocket in the smartphone industry. Even the OPPO Find X10 series, which is among the first new Android flagships to launch in India, starts at Rs 1,39,999.
OnePlus 16 specifications:
- Display: 6.78-inch LTPO OLED, 185Hz refresh rate
- Processor: Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6
- Cameras: 200MP + 50MP + 50MP rear; 50MP front
- Battery, charging: 9,000mAh; 100W wired, 50W wireless
The OnePlus 16 does boast solid hardware with the fastest chipset and a massive battery. It also has an impressive camera system and dedicated features for performance and gaming. But will that be enough to convince buyers, especially at a high markup? It’s something we’ll have to wait and see. As for those looking forward to the OnePlus 16, they might want to wait and compare with competing flagships to see which one gives the best value.
