OnePlus N6x sale date confirmed ahead of India launch this week
OnePlus has confirmed when buyers in India will be able to purchase the upcoming OnePlus N6x. The budget smartphone is set to debut in the country on July 31st at 12 noon IST, with sales beginning on August 4th at 12 noon IST via Amazon and the OnePlus India online store. Ahead of the launch, the company has also confirmed several other features, revealing the N6x to be a battery-focused offering in the affordable segment.

The OnePlus N6x will feature a 7,000mAh battery, which the company claims can deliver up to 2.5 days of battery life on a single charge. According to OnePlus, the phone is capable of offering up to 20.56 hours of video playback, 133.56 hours of music playback, 25.04 hours of social media browsing, and 11.26 hours of continuous video recording.

While these figures are based on the company’s internal testing, they suggest the N6x is aimed at users who spend long hours streaming content, browsing social media or travelling without regular access to a charger. Students, commuters and heavy media consumers could particularly benefit from the larger battery. That said, the N6x doesn’t quite match the 8,000mAh battery found on the recently launched OnePlus N6.
OnePlus has also confirmed that the phone will feature a flat display with a 120Hz refresh rate, along with several AI-powered photo editing tools, including AI Portrait Glow, AI Eraser, and AI Unblur. These features are designed to brighten faces in low-light photos, remove unwanted objects and sharpen blurry images directly on the device.
The company has yet to reveal the processor, cameras, charging speed or pricing. Charging speed, in particular, will be worth watching. The OnePlus N6 supports 45W wired fast charging, and retaining similar charging speeds on the N6x would help balance the longer charging times that typically come with larger batteries.
The N6x comes at a time when smartphone brands are increasingly competing on battery life. Chinese manufacturers have pushed beyond the traditional 5,000mAh mark over the past year as advances in Si-C battery technology has made bigger cells possible without significantly increasing phone thickness.
For buyers, the OnePlus N6x is shaping up to be an attractive option if all-day battery life is the top priority. However, it’s worth waiting for the full specifications and price before making a decision, as overall value will ultimately depend on its chipset, cameras, charging speed and software support.
