OnePlus Nord Buds 2r launched in India back in July 2023 and was rated quite well in our review, thanks to the good sound signature, affordable pricing and the overall package. Now, it looks like the company is working on a successor i.e. the Nord Buds 3r. The OnePlus E511A TWS was spotted on the FCC certification website and there are speculations that these could be the Nord Buds 3r.

OnePlus Nord Buds 3r might get bigger batteries

  • The OnePlus Nord earbuds and the accompanying charging case have the model numbers 112570 and 761832-B1, respectively.
  • The FCC listing, as spotted by MySmartPrice, reveals the earbuds will feature a 58mAh battery. This is a significant bump from the 36mAh battery found on the Nord Buds 2r.
  • This is a good indication to suggest the battery life will be better on the successor.
  • Surprisingly, the TWS case will have a 440mAh battery, which is 40mAh less than the predecessor.

The FCC listing shows the top cross-section of the charging case. This suggests that the earbuds could be placed vertically within the case much like the first-generation buds. The entire design of the earbuds is under wraps at the moment but there are chances the earbuds and the case might look almost similar to the Nord Buds 2r. We might get a rectangular case and angled eartips with an in-ear design.

Unfortunately, the FCC listing doesn’t include any other details such as the hardware features of the upcoming OnePlus Nord Buds 3r. But since they appeared on the FCC listing, we are hopeful to come across more such listings before they officially debut, probably alongside the next Nord series phone.

To recall, the OnePlus Nord Buds lineup offers affordable TWS products with watered-down features similar to the slightly more expensive and regular OnePlus Buds lineup.
