OPPO has announced the launch of its flagship Find X9 Series in India on November 18th. The lineup, which will include the Find X9 and Find X9 Pro, brings imaging tech, design, and performance upgrades, and will directly compete with the Vivo X300 series, OnePlus 15, iQOO 15, and Realme GT8 Pro. The OnePlus 15 will launch shortly before the Find X9 series, on November 13th, while iQOO will follow on November 26th.

Powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 9500 chipset, the Find X9 series strives to be an all-rounder while making photography its USP. The global models come with 6.59-inch and 6.78-inch LTPO AMOLED displays with a high refresh rate and huge 7,000mAh+ batteries for endurance. The phones have flat-edge aesthetic with the circular camera island making way for a rounded rectangle.

The Hasselblad co-designed camera system on the Find X9 Pro comes with a 200MP telephoto sensor along with dual 50MP cameras for wide and ultra-wide angles. The OPPO Find X9 houses a triple 50MP camera on the rear. There’s a 50MP Sony LYT-808 primary sensor (f/1.6) with optical image stabilisation for steady shots, along with a 50MP ultra-wide-angle lens (f/2.0) for more expansive shots, and a 50MP Sony LYT-600 telephoto camera lens (f/2.6) with OIS for clearer images when zoomed in. On the front, there’s a 32MP Sony IMX615 camera for selfies and video calls. The Find X9 Pro remains the only recent flagship with Hasselblad cameras after OPPO’s sister concern OnePlus moves to a proprietary camera system for its numbered flagship.

Both phones also feature OPPO’s LUMO Image Engine, which provides improved image processing and realistic colour accuracy for images. The system debuted on the OPPO Find X8 Ultra and integrates advanced optics, sensor control, colour science, and computational processing to reproduce images as naturally as the human eye perceives it. OPPO has detailed the Engine, ahead of the series’ India launch. Users can expect clearer portraits, natural bokeh, and vivid colours without over-processing in diverse conditions. LUMO is powered by the Dimensity 9500’s Imagiq NPU and ISP that guarantee real-time depth, motion, and colour analysis. Along with OPPO’s ProXDR ecosystem, the image maintains fidelity throughout capture, editing, and sharing. OPPO’s edge over its competitors would definitely be related to photography, with the brand focussing heavily on marketing those features.

The Find X9 series will probably start at around Rs 70,000 – Rs 80,000 for buyers in India. It would be particularly attractive to those who value camera performance, pitching it against the Vivo X300 series which, when it arrives, will come with a Zeiss imaging system. Where OPPO could gain an edge would be battery life, as the global models have capacities over 7,000mAh while Vivo maxes out at 6,150mAh. For photographers and content creators, LUMO’s natural output may be the selling point for the device. At the same time, gamers looking for increased performance or better value may want to look at the iQOO 15 or Realme GT8 Pro.

The focus on the LUMO Image Engine shows that OPPO wants to compete with innovation rather than merely on specs. If OPPO delivers on its imaging promise and keeps the pricing competitive, then the Find X9 series could emerge as one of the most balanced and feature-rich Android flagships.
