Pixel 10a pre-orders in India begin February 18th, teaser shows familiar design with a flat camera
After weeks of leaks and speculation, Google has finally made it official. Pre-orders for the Pixel 10a will begin globally on February 18th, including in India. That is earlier than we usually see from Google’s A-series phones, which tend to arrive much later in the year. The confirmation came through a short teaser video on YouTube, locking in the launch timeline.
Google is also giving a small incentive for early interest. Anyone who signs up on the Google Store by February 13th at 1.29 pm IST will get an email on pre-order day with details of an offer that can be used on a future purchase. Google has not explained what that benefit looks like yet, but it seems more like a push for early buyers than a straight launch discount.

As for the phone itself, there are no real surprises so far. The Pixel 10a looks very similar to last year’s Pixel 9a. It keeps the metal frame, the same chunky bezels around the display, and a dual-camera setup on the back that is now almost completely flush with the body. One official image shows the phone in a soft lavender-blue finish, while an earlier leak from Roland Quandt pointed to more colour options such as obsidian, berry, fog and lavender.
The hardware also feels familiar. Leaks suggest Google is sticking with the Tensor G4 chip used in the Pixel 9a, instead of moving to the newer Tensor G5 expected in the flagship Pixel 10. Storage is said to remain UFS 3.1, with a small bump in display brightness being one of the few changes. HDR brightness is tipped to go up to 2,000 nits, compared to 1,800 nits on the Pixel 9a.
The Pixel 10a will reportedly feature a 6.285-inch Full HD+ plastic AMOLED display with 60Hz and 120Hz refresh rate support. The camera setup reportedly includes a 48MP main camera, a 13MP ultrawide, and a 13MP front camera. Storage is said to be capped at 128GB with 8GB of RAM, no microSD slot, and a 5,100mAh battery. Much of this mirrors the Pixel 9a, suggesting the focus will again be on Google’s software, camera tuning and AI features like Gemini tools and Call Assist, rather than headline-grabbing specs.
The early launch also places the Pixel 10a in the market just ahead of Samsung’s next flagship cycle, including the Galaxy S26 series, while also lining it up against upcoming mid-range phones such as the Nothing Phone 4a.
Pricing is still unclear. The Pixel 9a launched at Rs 49,999, though it now sells for under Rs 40,000. Google may try to avoid pushing prices higher, but rising component costs could complicate that. If the Pixel 10a stays close to its predecessor’s pricing and continues to offer strong software support, it should still make sense for buyers who care more about camera reliability and clean Android than flashy design or raw performance.
