The new smartphone series is said to feature two models, including the POCO F5 and POCO F5 Pro. The POCO F5 would be the base model, and it is confirmed to launch with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7+ Gen2 processor. The same was confirmed by Snapdragon India on Twitter. This would also make the POCO F5 the first phone in India with the Snapdragon 7+ Gen2 processor.

The POCO F5 is said to be rebranded version of the Redmi Note 12 Turbo, which launched in China a few weeks ago. Considering it’s the same chipset and given the company’s history, it’s very likely that this speculation could turn out to be true. If so, here’s what we can expect from the POCO F5.

POCO F5 expected specs

Display: The POCO F5 global variant could house a 6.67-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The smartphone is also rumoured to get an in-display fingerprint sensor.
Camera: In the photography department, the POCO F5 would sport a triple-camera setup with a 64MP primary sensor, an 8MP secondary camera and a 2MP camera. For selfies, it will most likely house a 16MP front camera.
Battery: The POCO F5 should pack a 5,000mAh battery with 67W fast charging support.
Software: One the software front, the POCO F5 will possibly run Android 13-based MIUI 14.

POCO F5 Geekbench listing

In addition to the India launch, the POCO F5 smartphones are also going to launch in global markets. Speaking of which, the POCO F5 global variant was spotted on Geekbench with the model number 23049PCD8G.

Based on this listing, the POCO F5 will be powered by the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 processor paired with up to 12GB of RAM.
It will also run Android 13 out-of-the-box which will have a custom UI layered on top.
On Geekbench, the POCO F5 has a single-core score of 1629 and a multi-core score of 4295.

POCO F5 Pro global variant

Along with the POCO F5, its ‘Pro’ variant is also expected to arrive. As the name suggests, the POCO F5 Pro will be more powerful than the base model. The differences could be in the processor which is said to be the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen1 for the POCO F5 Pro. It is also expected to house a bigger 5,500mAh battery but with the same 67W fast charging support.
