POCO F6 specifications

POCO F6 features a 6.67-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, 240Hz touch sampling rate, and 2400 nits peak brightness. The display also has Gorilla Glass Victus protection on top, Dolby Vision, and HDR10+. Under the hood of the phone runs the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 SoC. It’s worth mentioning that the POCO F6 is the first phone in India to feature this chipset.

In the photography department, the POCO F6 sports a 50MP Sony IMX882 primary camera with OIS and an 8MP Sony IMX355 ultra-wide camera. For selfies, it features a 20MP front camera. POCO has also added some AI features like ‘Magic Erase’ that lets you remove objects from photos, and AI bokeh to add bokeh effects from the gallery.

The smartphone even has ‘AON’ (Real-time response to action) that uses gestures for certain actions like moving to the next screen and answering calls. You also get NFC, Bluetooth 5.4, an IP64 rating, Dolby Atmos, and dual stereo speakers with the POCO F6.

The smartphone offers up to 12GB LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB UFS 4.0 storage. For heat dissipation, the smartphone is equipped with POCO IceLoop cooling technology, a first in the country. POCO says that this is 3x better than the vapour cooling technology offered by other OEMs.

POCO F6 packs a 5000mAh battery with 90W fast charging support. You get a 120W charger with the box. On the software front, the smartphone runs Xiaomi HyperOS with Android 14 out of the box. POCO is also promising three major Android updates and four years of security patch updates.

POCO F6: what are the upgrades?

POCO F6 arrives as the successor to POCO F5 which launched last year in May. Starting with the chipset, POCO has upgraded from the Snapdragon 7+ Gen2 to the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3. The battery remains the same with a 5,000mAh unit but fast charging has been upgraded from 67W to 90W.

The camera bit is interesting as POCO has removed the macro sensor while the 64MP main sensor has been replaced by a 50MP camera. The change might seem confusing but it’s best to wait for our review before jumping to conclusions. The selfie camera has been improved though with a 20MP sensor.

POCO F6 alternatives

With a starting price of Rs 29,999, the POCO F6 puts itself in a competitive segment. It would be competing with popular names in the same price range. Some of its possible rivals include the Motorola Edge 50 Pro, Realme GT 6T, and Redmi Note 13 Pro+. We’ll be reviewing the POCO X6 Pro, and giving a detailed comparison by putting it against its closest rivals.
