POCO F7 Emerges Champion in India’s Biggest Gaming and Battery Endurance Test

We witness new phone launches almost every other day, but it won’t be wrong to say that there are very few smartphone brands in the market that truly understand the everyday needs of end users. In the Smartphone Buyer Insights Survey 2025, conducted recently by 91mobiles, we found that performance is the most important criterion for people while buying a new smartphone. This is not surprising, as most of the modern apps and games are quite demanding and require the phones to feature particularly powerful hardware to avoid lag, stuttering issues, heating issues, and more. Another important criterion that can make or break a smartphone for users is battery performance. Especially if you’re a gamer, you simply can’t tolerate a smartphone that suffers from excessive battery drain.

To figure out the best smartphones in these departments, 91mobiles conducted an extensive battery and gaming test involving over 300 participants. These users played a popular game (Battlegrounds Mobile India) for 30 minutes on their smartphones and shared screenshots from the 3C Battery Manager app. This allowed us to track the battery drain and temperature increase showcased by popular smartphones during intensive gaming sessions.

Our comprehensive test aims to provide valuable insights into which smartphones can sustain gaming without compromising performance. By presenting real-world data on battery life and thermal management, we will help you identify the best devices suited for your gaming needs. Whether you’re a dedicated gamer or someone who enjoys occasional play, our findings will guide you to the perfect smartphone that balances power, endurance, and efficiency. Before we discuss the results, let us share with you the process that we used to conduct our test.

91mobiles Gaming and Battery Test

To participate in the 91mobiles battery and gaming test, users followed a detailed process to ensure accurate and useful data collection. Here are the steps that the participants had to follow:

  • Download 3C Battery Manager: This app helps in tracking battery usage and temperature changes during the gaming session.
  • Download BGMI: If participants had the game already on their phone, they were not required to reinstall it.
  • Pre-Gaming Screenshot: Screenshot to capture the initial battery status and temperature.
  • Gaming Session: Participants then played BGMI uninterrupted for at least 30 minutes.
  • Post-Gaming Screenshot: Screenshot to record the battery drain and temperature increase during gameplay.
  • Upload Screenshots: Finally, users visited the provided form and uploaded the two screenshots (one taken before and one after playing BGMI).
After following these steps, participants were required to:
  • Rate overall gaming and battery experience: Finally, participants rated their overall gaming experience and battery experience on their device.

To understand the phone’s capabilities, we ran several benchmarks and real-world tests on it and compared it to some of the other popular phones in the price segment. Here’s what we found out.

Which phone performed the best?

After taking into consideration the overall gaming experience, the battery drain, and thermal management offered by all the smartphones, the data clearly suggests that the POCO F7 was unrivalled in our tests.

First, let’s discuss the battery drain. The POCO F7 showcased just 2% of battery drain after gaming for around 30 minutes. With this, the handset managed to beat both Vivo T4 Ultra and the Motorola Edge 60, both of which lost around 3% battery after gaming for half an hour.

This win for POCO F7 was particularly impressive because our data shows that around 50% of the phones that participated in this test lost more than 9% of battery after gaming for 30 minutes. Talk about super battery efficiency, right?

Next, let’s take the temperature rise into consideration. The POCO F7’s surface temperature rose by just 1°C after the gaming session. In comparison, the Moto Edge 60 Stylus showed a temperature rise of 2°C, the iQOO Neo 10R and OnePlus Nord 4 showed a rise of 3°C, and finally, the Edge 50 Fusion showed a rise of 4°C.

Coming to perhaps the most crucial aspect of the test – the gaming experience. The participants shared that the combination of the overall gaming experience and the battery efficiency was delivered best by the POCO F7 in this test.

As you can see, the real-world gaming test shows that the POCO F7 is not just the best handset for performance and gaming in its own price segment, but the handset even beats some of the competing handsets that are priced much higher.

Conclusion

The POCO F7 boasts one of the largest battery capacities – 7,550 mAh – in any mainstream smartphone, giving users extended screen time for gaming, streaming, work, and more. It easily powers through a full day, and often two, on a single charge, making it ideal for heavy users and frequent travellers. Paired with power-efficient hardware, this big battery means less time plugged in and more time doing what you love, uninterrupted.

To sum it up, the POCO F7’s dominant performance in the 91mobiles real-world gaming test, where it topped the charts in gaming experience, battery efficiency, and overall responsiveness, clearly reflects its all-round prowess. For users seeking unbeatable value without compromising on power or gaming capability, the POCO F7 stands out as a smart and compelling choice in its segment.
