After unveiling several affordable smartphones in different markets across the globe, the Chinese smartphone maker POCO is gearing up to launch the POCO X5 5G in India as the device has bagged Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) certification. The device has also been spotted on the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) website, which suggests it will arrive in the US as well.

According to MySmartPrice, the official POCO X5 launch date in India is unknown, but most likely, the smartphone will be launched in the country later this year. The India head of the brand Himanshu Tandon recently hinted on the microblogging platform Twitter that they “have something better planned”.

With model number 22101320I, the Indian variant of the upcoming POCO X5 5G smartphone has been spotted on the BIS website and the IMEI database. In China, the smartphone may launch as a Redmi device with the model number 22101320C.

As per the FCC listing, the upcoming POCO X5 5G will sport a rectangular camera module design. It is likely to house a 4,900mAh battery, but the company may promote it as a 5000mAh battery. The smartphone will come with dual-band Wi-Fi support and will support the n5, n7, n38, n41, n77, and n78 5G bands. The POCO X5 5G will run MIUI 14 out of the box, implying that the phone could launch with Android 13 out of the box.
