POCO X8 Pro Max could be the brand’s biggest X-series upgrade yet

With the POCO X8 Pro already certified in Thailand, a new model is in the lineup that could be its most premium offering yet. This is the newly surfaced X8 Pro Max, which has now cleared Indonesia’s TKDN certification, suggesting an imminent launch. This is the first time we’re seeing a ‘Max’ model in POCO’s X-series.
The POCO X8 Pro Max, carrying the model number 2602BPC18G, was recently listed in Indonesia’s TKDN database. The same model number was earlier linked to the POCO X8 Pro Max name via an IMEI database entry. The device has also secured certifications from Singapore’s IMDA and Europe’s EEC, indicating that POCO may be preparing for a wider global rollout rather than a limited regional release.

While the Indonesian certification does not reveal any hardware specifications, a recent leak suggested key differences between the two models. The POCO X8 Pro Max is tipped to pack a massive 8,500mAh battery, while the standard POCO X8 Pro could feature a 6,500mAh cell. Both devices are said to support 100W wired charging. With an 8,500mAh battery, the POCO X8 Pro Max is sure to be a top contender for endurance.
With the X8 Pro Max, POCO would be significantly outpacing many mid-range phones, even those with 7,000mAh+ batteries. We’re already seeing a rising trend in large batteries, and POCO appears to be leaning into that strategy aggressively.
Based on their model numbers, the POCO X8 Pro is believed to be a rebranded Redmi Turbo 5, while the POCO X8 Pro Max could be derived from the Redmi Turbo 5 Max, albeit with slightly smaller batteries. The Redmi Turbo 5 Max has a 9,000mAh battery, but this capacity could be limited to China.
The rest of the speculations could remain the same for the POCO X8 Pro Max. We can expect the smartphone to feature a 6.83-inch AMOLED display (1280 x 2772 pixels) with a 120Hz refresh rate, 3,840Hz PWM dimming, and 3,500-nit peak brightness. It could run on the MediaTek Dimensity 9500s chipset, a new flagship chipset confirmed to arrive on an upcoming POCO phone.
