Realme 15x has just launched in India as the latest addition to the brand’s number series. Positioned as a budget-friendly 5G device, the Realme 15x aims to combine massive battery capacity, smooth performance, and AI cameras, while extending Realme’s strategy of offering high-value smartphones for the sub-Rs 20,000 segment. It follows the Realme 15T, Realme 15, and Realme 15 Pro, further strengthening the brand’s number-series portfolio.
A key highlight of the Realme 15x is its 7000mAh battery, one of the largest in its category, joining the Realme P4 and OPPO K13. The device supports 60W SUPERVOOC charging, but an 80W charger is included in the box. This could be since Realme doesn’t manufacture 60W chargers. Realme claims that one full charge will give you two days of battery life. This makes it suitable for heavy users and gamers who want uninterrupted usage throughout the day. The phone also supports 6.5W reverse charging so that you can power up smaller devices like TWS.
Its 6.8-inch ‘Sunlight Display’ with HD+ resolution, 144Hz refresh rate, and peak brightness of 1,200 nits ensures a responsive and immersive experience even under direct sunlight. With a 144Hz refresh rate, the smartphone should offer a smooth scrolling experience for regular usage and gaming as well.
The smartphone features a 50MP Sony IMX852 camera at the back and a 50MP AI front camera. It supports cinematic video, dual-view recording, slow motion, time-lapse, and even underwater photography, making it appealing to content creators and social media enthusiasts. You also get AI features like AI Edit Genie, AI Landscape, and AI Eraser. The setup seems lacking, though, as most phones in this segment offer at least two rear cameras with an ultra-wide sensor. The primary camera may capture impressive photos, but the lack of an additional sensor may limit flexibility.
In terms of storage, the Realme 15x offers up to 8GB RAM with 256GB internal memory and supports up to 10GB Dynamic RAM expansion. It supports 5G + 5G dual-mode connectivity, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.3, and runs on realme UI 6.0 based on Android 15 out of the box. Realme hasn’t revealed how many updates the phone will get.
