Realme has officially expanded its number series in India with the launch of the Realme 16 Pro+ and Realme 16 Pro. Like the previous models, Realme’s latest number series continues to focus on a premium design, display, and cameras. This time, Realme has added a massive 7,000mAh battery, along with a host of AI features, to the 16 Pro series. The latest lineup also includes a Pro+ model, which was missing last year.
Price and availability
The Realme 16 Pro+ is priced at Rs 39,999 for the base 8GB + 128GB variant and goes up to Rs 44,999 for the 12GB + 256GB variant. The 8GB + 256GB variant is priced at Rs 41,999. The Realme 16 Pro starts at Rs 31,999 for the 8GB + 128GB variant, Rs 33,999 for the 8GB + 256GB variant, and Rs 36,999 for the 12GB + 256GB variant. Both phones will be available starting January 9th via realme.com, retail stores, and Flipkart. Launch offers include a bank discount of Rs 3,000 and up to Rs 5,000 off on exchange.
Realme 16 Pro+ specifications and features
The Realme 16 Pro+ is clearly positioned as the premium model of the series and arrives in three colours: Master Gold, Master Gray, and Camellia Pink (India exclusive). Up front is a 6.8-inch AMOLED HyperGlow 4D Curve+ display with a resolution of 1280 × 2800 pixels. Realme claims a staggering peak brightness of 6,500 nits, making it particularly appealing for users who consume a lot of HDR video or spend time outdoors.
Powering the device is the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset, Qualcomm’s mid-range SoC that is a proven performer. Paired with Realme’s AirFlow VC cooling system, the phone is clearly tuned for sustained performance, along with features like AI Gaming Coach, which offers real-time tips and optimisations during gameplay.

Cameras are where the Pro+ really tries to differentiate itself. It features a 200MP Samsung HP5 main sensor, accompanied by a 50MP telephoto camera that supports 3.5x optical zoom and up to 120x digital zoom. The telephoto camera is a great addition, especially for those who rely on a versatile camera setup. The 50MP front camera also places it ahead of most competitors that still rely on 32MP sensors. AI tools such as AI Framing Master and AI Edit Genie are built into the camera stack for post-processing and improving the image quality. Realme has been pushing AI, especially for photography, with its AI Edit Genie features, as we’ve seen in previous generations.
The Realme 16 Pro series also debuts the Luma ColorEngine technology, designed to get an accurate skin tone, precise depth-of-field, and better portraits with texture, lighting, and shadows. There’s also the Vibe Master Mode offering 21 different tones for portraits and festivals.
The Realme 16 Pro+ packs a massive 7,000mAh battery with 80W fast charging, which should help fix any battery anxiety and slow top-ups. On the software side, the phone runs Realme UI 7.0 based on Android 16 out of the box. It comes with the new Flux Engine, which promises ultra-realistic motion and smoother system-wide animations.
Realme 16 Pro specifications and features
The Realme 16 Pro retains much of the hardware of the Pro+ but trims a few features to hit a more aggressive price point. It is available in Master Gold, Pebble Grey, and Orchid Purple, and sports a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 1272 × 2772 pixels and a 144Hz refresh rate. Like the Pro+, it has a peak brightness of 6,500 nits and 1,500 nits in High Brightness Mode.
Under the hood is the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Max 5G chipset, a custom-tuned version aimed at balancing performance and efficiency for everyday use. We’re yet to test the Realme 16 Pro’s performance, which will help us figure out if it’s good for multitasking, casual gaming and long-term usage.

The camera setup still revolves around a 200MP main sensor, paired with an 8MP ultra-wide camera, while the front camera is a 50MP shooter. Despite being the cheaper sibling, the Realme 16 Pro does not compromise heavily on photography with a decent camera setup. Plus, it gets the same multi-focal length from 1x to 4x like the Pro+, and the Vibe Master Mode as well.
Battery life is identical to the Pro+, with the same 7,000mAh cell and 80W fast charging, and the phone ships with Realme UI 7.0 based on Android 16, along with the same features. Both phones are also certified with IP66 / IP68 / IP69 / IP69K ratings, making them highly durable against dust and water.
The Realme 16 Pro+ is best suited for users who want a premium mid-range smartphone. Its curved AMOLED display with extreme brightness, the inclusion of a telephoto camera with true optical zoom, and the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset make it ideal for power users, mobile photographers, and gamers who demand sustained performance.
On the other hand, the Realme 16 Pro caters to a much broader audience. It offers the same large battery, equally fast charging, a high-resolution AMOLED panel with a faster 144Hz refresh rate, and a 200MP main camera, making it a strong choice for anyone looking for a daily driver. While the Realme 16 Pro series does stand out with its design and specifications, we would still suggest waiting for the complete review before buying the phones.
