Realme 5G smartphone with Qualcomm Snapdragon 7-Series SoC to launch soon

At the IFA 2019, Qualcomm announced its plans to bring 5G-supported chipsets across its Snapdragon 7 and 6 series in 2020, thereby offering 5G experiences to the mid-range smartphones as well. Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 series is the company’s flagship processor lineup. The chipmaker also mentioned that it had already started sampling the new Snapdragon 7-series chipset to its customers, and the first device would be unveiled after Q4 this year. Right after the announcement, Realme confirmed that it would soon launch a 5G smartphone powered by the upcoming new Snapdragon-7 series mobile platform.

While the exact launch date or other hardware specifications of the Realme 5G phone are revealed yet, it is said to rock next-gen Qualcomm AI Engine and Qualcomm Elite Gaming features. In a statement, Realme said, “By adopting Snapdragon 7 Series that is one of the first mobile platforms with integrated 5G, Realme clearly demonstrates its Dare-to-Leap capabilities. In the forthcoming era of 5G, Realme is also dedicated to contributing to the global development of 5G technologies, so that more consumers can benefit from them as soon as possible.

To recall, Realme India head Madhav Sheth back in June confirmed that the brand has plans to bring 5G smartphones as early as this year. He also noted that Realme’s 5G phone would be ready before the telecom networks in India start offering the 5G network services. Apart from Realme, other brands, including Motorola, HMD Global, LG, Oppo, Vivo, Redmi and Xiaomi, also announced their plans to use the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 7-series chipset for their respective 5G phones in the near future.
