Realme teases a new smartphone with a periscope camera, could be the Realme GT 5 Pro

Realme has teased the launch of a new flagship smartphone.
The handset will come with a periscope lens, the first from the brand in three years.
Realme hasn’t shared any details of the phone at the moment but speculations are rife that it could be the Realme GT 5 Pro.

Realme has shared a teaser image on X (previously, Twitter) of an upcoming smartphone. The image shows the return of the periscope camera in the brand’s lineup. To recall, Realme X3 SuperZoom launched back in May 2020 had a periscope telephoto camera but later the brand didn’t launch any smartphone either with a regular telephoto or a periscope telephoto unit.

The picture posted by Realme shows a circular camera module on the rear panel.
We see two circular cutouts for the cameras and one rectangle.
There are chances the two rings are for primary and ultrawide, while the rectangle one could be a periscope telephoto camera.
The company hasn’t divulged anything about the camera or phone for that matter.
Realme presumably took a dig at the Apple iPhone 15 Pro Max with the caption, “Not only Max can zoom.” The iPhone 15 Pro Max comes with a periscope camera.
There are speculations that the device in question could be the Realme GT 5 Pro, which is rumoured to debut later this year with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset and a 64MP telephoto camera (OmniVision OV64B).

Realme GT 5 Pro specifications (expected)

Display: Realme GT 5 Pro is expected to feature an FHD+ OLED display with a 144 Hz refresh rate and a punch-hole cutout.
Processor: The smartphone is likely to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset.
Cameras: The handset is expected to feature a periscope camera with 3x optical zoom, which could be the OmniVision OV64B 64 MP sensor.
Fast charging: The phone could feature at least 240W fast charging support.
