Design
- The Redmi 12 4G and Redmi 12 5G smartphones have a similar design with a glass back and flat edges featuring a metallic paint finish.
- They have three individual rings for the camera setup, giving them a clean and minimalistic appearance.
- The power button and volume keys are positioned on the right edge of the phone.
- At the bottom, you can find the USB Type-C port and the speaker grille.
- A 3.5mm headphone jack and an IR blaster are on the top side of the frame.
Display
- In terms of display, the Redmi 12 4G and Redmi 12 5G feature a 6.79-inch FHD+ display with a 90Hz refresh rate, a Corning Gorilla Glass layer for protection, and a punch-hole cutout for the selfie camera.
Camera
- The Redmi 12 4G comes with a triple rear camera setup, which consists of a 50MP primary sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide sensor, and a 2MP macro lens.
- On the other hand, the 5G variant of the smartphone offers a dual rear camera setup. There is a 50MP primary camera, like the Redmi 12 4G, and a 2MP depth sensor.
- Regarding the selfie camera, both the 4G and 5G variants are equipped with an 8MP selfie camera placed on the punch-hole cutout.
Chipset
- The Redmi 12 4G is powered by the MediaTek Helio G88 SoC with Arm Mali-G52, whereas the Redmi 12 5G is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 SoC paired with Adreno GPU.
- The Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 delivers better CPU performance compared to the MediaTek Helio G88 chipset and it also enables 5G support.
Battery
- There is no difference in the battery department of both phones as they house a 5,000mAh battery with 18W fast charging technology.
