Redmi K80 series launch timeline tipped

  • The Redmi K80 series will launch in November this year, according to the tipster Smart Pikachu.
  • The tipster has also mentioned key specifications of the Redmi K80 series including the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset, a 2K display, and periscope telephoto lens.
  • Since the Redmi K70 series launched last November, it’s most likely that the Redmi K80 series will also debut around the same time.
  • Qualcomm is expected to launch the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset in October. We should start seeing phones with this chipset shortly after the launch.

The Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset might be exclusive to the Redmi K80 Pro, while the standard models might get the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. With the Redmi K80 series, the brand is reportedly taking a different approach by focusing only on flagship models and removing mid-range variants like the Redmi K80e. For context, the Redmi K70e is the more affordable version of the flagship series, which features the Redmi K70 and Redmi K70 Pro.

The smartphone is also tipped to pack a 5,500mAh battery. The Redmi K80 series will reportedly feature a metal frame with a glass back. With months to go before the Redmi K80 series debut, we should be learning more about the new devices soon.
