Redmi K90 Ultra is set to launch in China this month as a new gaming-focused smartphone. It’s a new addition to its K90 series that promises high-end gaming features, possibly at a more accessible price point. The K90 Ultra is also expected to borrow several ideas from the K90 Max, Redmi’s recently launched smartphone with a built-in cooling fan.
Redmi has officially confirmed that the K90 Ultra will launch in China later this month. Xiaomi Group President Lu Weibing says the device is designed to continue the gaming-first philosophy introduced with the K90 Max, while targeting the CNY 3,000 (Rs 41,973 approx) segment, where options have become increasingly limited.
While Redmi has yet to reveal the full specifications, leaks from tipster Digital Chat Station paint an interesting picture. The K90 Ultra is tipped to feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite-series processor paired with an active fan-based cooling system. If true, the setup could help deliver stable performance during extended gaming sessions by preventing thermal throttling.
The Redmi K90 Ultra could also pack a battery larger than 8,000mAh, which would make it one of the biggest in its class. Previous certification listings have also hinted at support for 100W wired fast charging, offering the possibility of combining endurance with quick top-ups.
Based on what’s been revealed so far, the Redmi K90 Ultra could appeal to gamers and power users who prioritise sustained performance and battery life over premium extras like advanced camera systems. If Redmi manages to keep pricing competitive, it may emerge as one of the strongest value-for-money gaming phones in its segment. Smartphone gamers looking for a mid-range handset with sustained performance and who can wait for the official launch and reviews, the K90 Ultra could be a strong contender.
There’s no word on an India launch yet, but the Redmi Turbo 5 launched in India today as the first phone from the lineup. This suggests that we may see more performance-focused phones from Redmi in India.
