Launch event to be livestreamed on YouTube next week
As stated above, the Redmi Note 15 will make its debut in India on January 6th, 2026. Xiaomi will livestream the launch event on its official YouTube channel starting at 11 am IST. While the smartphone is expected to go on sale a few days after the launch event, the Redmi Note 15 5G will be available for purchase on Amazon, Xiaomi’s website, and offline retail chains.
Sleek design with multiple colour options
Redmi has officially revealed that the Redmi Note 15 will flaunt a thickness of 7.35mm, which is 0.65mm slimmer than the Redmi Note 14 5G. Paired with a curved AMOLED display, this should provide comfortable ergonomics for extended use and add a premium feel to the mid-range segment, as we previously experienced with the Moto G96. Furthermore, the smartphone will be available in three different paint jobs: purple, black, and silver.
Upgraded cameras, display, battery and more
Per the official teasers, the Redmi Note 15 is dubbed the “108 MasterPixel Edition”, and it’s confirmed to feature a 108MP camera. While the company hasn’t given any specifics on the sensor’s name or size, this camera will support 4K video recording aided by OIS. Xiaomi is also bundling its own version of Live Photos called ‘Dynamic Shot’ along with multiple focal length options within the portrait mode. There’s also a secondary camera at the rear, which could be the ultrawide lens.

Coming to the curved AMOLED display, a major highlight of the handset, it’ll measure 6.77-inches and carry a refresh rate of 120Hz, 3,200 nits of peak brightness, and even support Hydro Touch 2.0 to register wet finger touches. Speaking of which, the Redmi Note 15 will get an IP66 rating for protection against dust and water sources. The Note 15 further one-ups the Redmi Note 14 by featuring a 5,520mAh battery with 45W fast charging support. The official teasers claim this battery can last for 1.6 days, which we’ll have to test when we get the device for review.
The pricing has been leaked
Weeks before the launch, tipster Abhishek Yadav (@yabhishekhd) on X has revealed the Redmi Note 15’s pricing. Said to come in two storage configurations, the 8+128GB variant could start at Rs 22,999, while the 8+256GB option may retail for Rs 24,999. For your reference, the Redmi Note 14 5G debuted in India last year at Rs 17,999.
Given the specifications and hardware upgrades, the price hike over its predecessor is somewhat expected; however, a larger factor may be at play here. With memory price surges across the industry, many smartphones across price brackets could receive a price bump, and the Redmi Note 15 could just be the starting point. As for the device, it appears to have solid upgrades over the Note 14, especially in the camera department. Now, how it’ll perform in real-world usage, that we’ll have to test out once the handset hits the market.
