Xiaomi has started selling the Redmi Note 15 Pro 5G and Redmi Note 15 Pro+ 5G in India, expanding the Redmi Note 15 lineup that debuted last month with the launch of the Redmi Note 15 108 MasterPixel Edition. The new models sit at the top of the series and also mark the highest prices the Redmi Note brand has reached so far in the country, thanks to the ever-increasing DDRAM costs.

First things first: pricing for the Redmi Note 15 Pro starts at Rs 29,999 for the 8GB + 128GB variant, while the 8GB + 256GB version costs Rs 31,999. The Redmi Note 15 Pro+ starts at Rs 37,999 for the 8GB + 256GB model, with 12GB + 256GB and 12GB + 512GB variants priced at Rs 39,999 and Rs 43,999 respectively. With bank offers of up to Rs 3,000, effective prices come down to Rs 26,999 for the Note 15 Pro and Rs 34,999 for the Pro+. Both phones are available from February 4th via mi.com, Amazon India, and offline retail stores.

At these prices, the Redmi Note 15 Pro series moves into the upper mid-range segment, where competition is already crowded. Compared to last year’s Redmi Note 14 Pro models, the upgrades are evolutionary, with Xiaomi focussing on battery capacity, charging speeds, and durability rather than headline performance gains.

The Redmi Note 15 Pro+ runs on the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4, while the standard Note 15 Pro uses the MediaTek Dimensity 7400 Ultra. Both are built on a 4nm process and are aimed at delivering stable, efficient performance rather than a major step up from last year. Compared to the competition, here’s how the new phones stack up.

The display experience is identical across the two phones. Both feature a large AMOLED panel with 1.5K resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, and high peak brightness. Stereo speakers are also shared, so there’s little to separate the two when it comes to media consumption.

Battery size is one of the more noticeable changes and rightly so. Even as OEMs are rolling out 7,000mAh batteries, Xiaomi has pushed itself to give the phones larger batteries compared to their predecessors. The Redmi Note 15 Pro packs a 6,580mAh battery with 45W fast charging, while the Pro+ includes a 6,500mAh battery and supports 100W fast charging. Xiaomi ships chargers in the box for both models. Battery life should be strong on either phone, though the Pro+ has an advantage when it comes to charging speed.

Camera hardware is largely shared between the two phones. Both use a 200MP main rear camera, paired with an 8MP ultrawide and a 2MP macro lens. There’s no dedicated telephoto camera, with zoom handled through high-resolution cropping and software processing. On the front, the Note 15 Pro features a 20MP selfie camera, while the Pro+ gets a higher-resolution 32MP sensor.

Durability is another area where Xiaomi has pushed harder this year. Both phones feature Gorilla Glass Victus 2 on the front and carry IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings for dust and water resistance, a level of protection that remains uncommon but is now getting mainstreamed at this price point.

In this price range, the Redmi Note 15 Pro series goes up against phones such as the Realme 16 Pro and Realme 16 Pro+, which offer similar headline features, including high-resolution cameras, large batteries, and strong water-resistance ratings. Choosing between the two Redmi models comes down to a handful of differences. The Redmi Note 15 Pro offers the same display, rear camera setup, battery size, and durability in a flat design at a lower price. The Pro+ adds much faster charging, a curved design with optional leather finishes, a higher-resolution front camera, and access to larger RAM and storage options.

For buyers who value faster charging and design, the Pro+ makes the stronger case. Those who don’t may find the standard Note 15 Pro offers better value. Buyers focused on bigger performance gains or more specialised camera hardware may still want to compare alternatives in this price range before making a decision.
