Redmi Turbo 5 launch date in India

The Redmi Turbo 5 is scheduled to launch in India on June 16th at 1:30 PM IST. The launch event will be livestreamed on the company’s official social media platforms and YouTube channel, allowing fans across the country to tune in and watch the unveiling. We’ll be following the event closely and will bring you all the latest updates, including the Redmi Turbo 5’s price in India, availability details, first impressions, review, and more.
Rumours are that the OEM may unveil a slightly budget-oriented Redmi 17 alongside the Turbo 5, but there isn’t much we know about the device yet.
Redmi Turbo 5 price in India (expected)
Mum is the word on the Redmi Turbo 5 India price at the moment. In China, however, the handset was introduced with a starting price of CNY 2,299 (~ Rs 30,000) earlier this year. This suggests the Redmi Turbo 5 to be a sub-Rs 40,000 offering in the country, priced closely to the POCO X8 Pro, with which it shares a bunch of similarities.
The POCO smartphone is currently selling at Rs 34,999 for its base variant. As confirmed, the Remi Turbo 5 will offer a bigger battery than the POCO X8 Pro, which could mean a bump in price. Our safe bet is that the Redmi Turbo 5 could cost in India at around Rs 36,000 for its entry-level variant without discounts.
Redmi Turbo 5 design

There isn’t much to guess here, considering the phone has already been launched in China. The phone boasts flat edges with a punch-hole display and two individual rings at the back for the camera sensors. The LED flash will be mounted next to the top sensor, while at the bottom, the phone will have Redmi branding etched.
The Redmi Turbo 5 has been teased in three colour options: White, Green, and Black. The teaser also confirms the lights built into the camera rings to act as a visual interface for notifications, charging states, gaming, and music playback.
Redmi Turbo 5 specifications
One of the key differences between the Chinese and Indian variants of the Redmi Turbo 5 is battery capacity. The Indian model will pack a 7,540mAh battery with 100W HyperCharge support, slightly smaller than the 7,560mAh unit found on the Chinese version. While the difference is negligible in real-world use, the Redmi Turbo 5’s battery is still significantly larger than the 6,520mAh cell on the POCO X8 Pro, which could translate to better battery endurance and longer usage between charges.

The handset is confirmed to feature a 1.5K AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and 3,200 nits peak brightness, which should offer sharper visuals and smoother scrolling than conventional FHD+ panels. The display size is likely to be around 6.59 inches, making it a compact offering.
Under the hood, the Redmi Turbo 5 will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Ultra chipset, paired with up to 12GB LPDDR5X Ultra RAM and UFS 4.1 storage. This hardware combination is expected to deliver strong gaming performance, faster app loading times, and smooth multitasking. There will be a large 5300mm2 VC cooling to dissipate heat during demanding workloads.
For optics, the Redmi Turbo 5 is confirmed to feature a 50MP primary camera with OIS and EIS support. It will be accompanied by an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens, while selfies and video calls will be handled by a 20MP front camera. Additional features are expected to include an in-display fingerprint sensor, dual stereo speakers, an X-axis linear vibration motor, an IR blaster, and a metal frame. The phone is also tipped to come with IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance.
Based on the specifications revealed so far, the Redmi Turbo 5 appears to be positioned as a performance-centric offering with a strong focus on battery life. If it is priced under Rs 40,000, the handset will rival the OnePlus Nord 6, which is a strong performance-oriented smartphone in the segment. The OnePlus smartphone boasts a massive 9,000mAh battery and a sub-flagship Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 SoC.
The real differentiator, however, will be how well Redmi optimises the Turbo 5 to balance its large battery, performance, and overall user experience. On paper, it certainly has the ingredients to stand out. For now, the Redmi Turbo 5 looks like a compelling option for users seeking long battery endurance without compromising on performance. We’ll reserve our final verdict until the full review.
