Redmi is steadily revealing more details about the upcoming Redmi Turbo 5 ahead of its June 16th launch in India. The smartphone has an official Amazon microsite through which the company has confirmed several key specifications, positioning the device as a performance-focused smartphone in the upper mid-range segment. With the Redmi Turbo 5, the brand will be entering the performance-focused segment, an area it hasn’t captured yet.

Redmi Turbo 5 battery details

One of the biggest highlights is the phone’s 7,540mAh battery, paired with 100W HyperCharge support. While the Chinese version packs a marginally larger 7,560mAh battery, the 20mAh difference is negligible and unlikely to have any noticeable impact on battery life. With a 7,540mAh battery, the Redmi Turbo 5 should be able to last longer than a day on regular to moderate usage. Most phones in the mid-range segment now offer large batteries, with some even touching 9,000mAh.

The Redmi Turbo 5 will feature a 1.5 display with a 120Hz refresh rate, a combination that should deliver sharper visuals than the FHD+ panels. For photography, the phone is confirmed to house a 50MP primary camera with both OIS and EIS support, accompanied by an 8MP ultra-wide camera and a 20MP front-facing shooter.

Powering the device is MediaTek’s Dimensity 8500 chipset, paired with up to 12GB LPDDR5X Ultra RAM and UFS 4.1 storage. This combination is expected to deliver faster app loading, smoother multitasking, and improved gaming performance. The handset could compete with rivals like the OnePlus Nord 6.

The phone is also expected to include features such as an in-display fingerprint scanner, dual stereo speakers, an X-axis linear vibration motor, an IR blaster, a metal frame, and IP68/IP69-rated dust and water resistance.

The Redmi Turbo 5 is shaping up to be an attractive option if battery life and performance are top priorities. However, with pricing still under wraps, it may be worth waiting for the official announcement before making a decision.
