Samsung Galaxy A35 vs Vivo V30: design
The new Samsung Galaxy A35 brings some design improvements from its predecessor, the Galaxy A34. The Galaxy A35 features a glass rear back for the first time, which gives the smartphone a premium in-hand feel. The design is very reminiscent of the Galaxy S series smartphone, with the sole exception of sizeable bezels around the display, which does detract from a clean look. The volume and power buttons are placed on a raised part of the metal frame, which is the new “Key Island” design. The Galaxy A35 is IP67-rated and comes in three colours: Awesome Lilac, Awesome Ice Blue, and Awesome Navy.
The Vivo V30 is quite slim, at just 7.45mm, and comes with a curved display and edges, which give it a comfortable in-hand feel. The non-marble finish variants offer a satin-like finish that does a good job of hiding fingerprints and smudges, while the marble finish looks stunning. The camera deco is still placed similarly to the V29, with some design changes to the aura light, which is now a rectangular LED ring rather than a circular ring. The device comes with an IP54 rating and is available in Peacock Green, Andaman Blue (marble finish), and Classic Black colours.

The Galaxy A35 equips a 6.6-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1,080 x 2,340 pixels, a refresh rate of 120Hz, and 1,000 nits of peak brightness. The Gorilla Glass Victus+ protects the device against damage and scratches.
The Vivo V30 features a 6.78-inch curved AMOLED panel with a Full HD+ resolution (2,800 x 1,260 pixels). The Vivo V30 has a peak brightness level of 2,800 nits, and a 120Hz refresh rate.
Conclusion: The Vivo V30 features a higher resolution display panel and comes with a substantially better peak brightness level in comparison to the Samsung Galaxy A35. This should offer a better visual experience on paper. The Galaxy A35, however, does come with Gorilla Glass Victus+ protection, which makes it more resistant to external damage, including drops and scratches.

The Samsung Galaxy A35 equips a triple rear camera setup, which includes a 50MP primary lens with OIS, working in tandem with an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens and a 5MP macro lens. At the front, there’s a 13MP camera for selfies and video calls.
The Vivo V30 comes with a 50MP primary camera with OIS and EIS support and a 50MP ultra-wide lens. At the front, there’s a punch-hole cutout that houses the 50MP selfie camera.
Conclusion: Both devices come with a capable rear camera setup, while on the front, the Vivo V30 takes an edge with a higher resolution lens. We cannot comment on the camera performance of the smartphones without testing each of them, so keep an eye out for detailed reviews of the smartphones.
Samsung Galaxy A35 vs Vivo V30: performance, software
The Samsung Galaxy A35 features the in-house Exynos 1380 chipset, paired with up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, while the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 SoC powers the Vivo V30, and the device comes with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.
On the software front, the Galaxy A35 features Samsung OneUI 6 based on Android 14 out of the box, while the Vivo V30 comes with FuntouchOS 14 based on Android 14.
Conclusion: Again, we haven’t reviewed these phones yet so we’ll reserve our opinion on their performance for a later date. Regarding software, both devices come with Android 14, so the choice ultimately boils down to the user’s preference for the custom skin, whether it be FuntouchOS or OneUI.
Samsung Galaxy A35 vs Vivo V30: battery, charging
Both smartphones feature a 5,000mAh battery, but the differences lie in the fast charging speeds. The Galaxy A35 comes with only 25W fast charging support, while the Vivo V30 can charge up to 80W, which gives it a significant boost in comparison.
Conclusion: The battery in both smartphones is of the same capacity, but with Vivo’s 80W fast charging, the V30 takes the lead in terms of charging speed.
