Samsung Galaxy F62 launched in India recently as a mid-range smartphone that offers great hardware at an even better price tag. The phone joins the already available Galaxy F41 in the new F-series phone from the South Korean manufacturer. This Samsung handset features a quad rear camera setup, a massive battery that can last for days, and a large screen, and is powered by the Exynos 9825 chipset. As the Samsung Galaxy F62 price in India is pretty is similar to that of the OnePlus Nord, another great mid-range phone, we thought it’d be a great idea to compare the two. Let’s take a look at the Samsung Galaxy F62 specifications, features, and price in India with those OnePlus Nord to see which of these offers better value for money.

The Samsung Galaxy F62 price in India starts at Rs 23,999 for the base variant with 6GB + 128GB configuration, while the option with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage costs Rs 25,999. However, ICICI Bank customers will get flat Rs 2,500 discount, bringing down their prices to Rs 21,499 and Rs 23,499, respectively. The smartphone wil go on sale in India on February 22nd via Flipkart.

On the other hand, the OnePlus Nord prices in India are Rs 24,999, Rs 27,999, and Rs 29,999 for the 6GB + 64GB, 8GB + 128GB, and 12GB + 256GB, respectively. However, only the Rs 27,999 variant with 8GB + 128GB configuration is available on sale in India at the moment. In fact, the base variant priced at Rs 24,999 has not been up for sale for several months now on both Amazon.in and OnePlus.in.

Samsung Galaxy F62 vs OnePlus Nord: design

In terms of design, we think the OnePlus Nord has a better and cleaner look. However, this is subjective, and some people may prefer the design of the Samsung Galaxy F62. Both phones have large screens up front with hole-punch cutouts for the camera. On the Samsung device, the hole-punch is at the top centre, whereas the OnePlus Nord has a pill-shaped cutout that houses dual selfie cameras. Both phones have slim bezels all around and some chin at the bottom.

Coming around to the back, Samsung Galaxy F62 has a square-shaped camera module that houses four sensors, with the flash placed outside the module. OnePlus Nord, on the other hand, has a pill-shaped camera module that also comprises of four sensors. As for the buttons, the Samsung model has its volume and power/ fingerprint button on the right side, whereas the OnePlus handset has its volume buttons on the left and the power and Alert Slider buttons on the right. Both phones will be offered in three colour options: Green, Blue, and Grey for the Galaxy F62 and Black, Blue, and Grey for Nord.

Now, let’s take a look at the specifications that these phones offer. Both are well spec’d devices, and are excellent performers for the price. Samsung Galaxy F62 comes with the Exynos 9825 processor, whereas the OnePlus Nord has the Snapdragon 765G processor with 5G support. The latter is available with up to 12GB RAM and 256GB storage, meanwhile the former tops out at 8GB RAM and 128GB storage. However, you can add more storage to the Samsung phone via the microSD card slot, but that’s not possible on the OnePlus model. 

Up front you’ll find a large 6.7-inch AMOLED Plus display with FHD+ resolution on the Samsung Galaxy F62. On the OnePlus Nord, you get a slightly smaller 6.44-inch AMOLED FHD+ panel, but with 90Hz refresh rate. The OnePlus comes with an in-display fingerprint scanner, but the Samsung uses a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. You’ll also find a larger 7,000mAh battery with 25W fast-charging on the latter. On the former, though, there’s a much smaller 4,115mAh battery that offers 30W fast-charge support.

Coming to the cameras, you’ll find a higher resolution 64MP main sensor on the Samsung Galaxy F62, compared to the 48MP unit on the OnePlus Nord. The former has a 12MP ultra-wide lens and dual 5MP lenses for depth sensing and macro. On the other hand, OnePlus Nord has an 8MP ultra-wide, 5MP depth, and a 2MP macro lens. Software wise, both phones run the latest Android 11-based custom software. The Nord runs OxygenOS, whereas the Galaxy F62 uses OneUI 3.1.

As mentioned in the beginning, on paper, the Samsung Galaxy F62 is clearly a better deal than the OnePlus Nord. It has a larger display, a much bigger battery, higher resolution rear cameras, and is cheaper. However, some may prefer the design and the cleaner software of the OnePlus Nord. Luckily for you, both are great phones, and you can’t go wrong with either.
