Smartphones launching in India next week: Nothing Phone (4a), Motorola Edge 70 Fusion and more

March is kicking off with an exciting lineup of smartphone launches. Nothing is introducing its Phone (4a) series globally and in India, followed by the Motorola Edge 70 Fusion. We’re seeing another 10,001mAh phone in India with the Realme Narzo Power. Realme is launching another phone in India under the C-series, and we might get an iPhone as well.

Here’s a closer look at what’s coming.

Nothing Phone (4a)

Nothing is set to launch the Nothing Phone (4a) globally and in India on March 5th. The biggest upgrade this time is the inclusion of a periscope camera, a first for the A-series, which previously reserved such hardware for Pro models. The signature Glyph Interface has evolved into a new vertical “Glyph Bar” with six LEDs, alongside the red recording LED, making its A-series debut.

The phone is expected to run on a Snapdragon chipset, likely the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4, and could feature a 6.7-inch 1.5K AMOLED display, a 50MP + 50MP + 8MP triple camera setup, and a slightly larger 5,400mAh battery. The handset is coming in pink, with white, black, and yellow options also expected, sporting a metal-and-plastic build.

The Nothing Phone (4a) looks like a strong mid-range contender with its unique design and capable everyday performance. It should suit most users as a reliable daily driver, though those seeking flagship-level power or a bigger battery may want to consider alternatives. With launch just around the corner, we’ll soon see how it performs in real-world use.

Motorola Edge 70 Fusion

Motorola will launch the Edge 70 Fusion on March 6th. The company is touting it as the world’s first smartphone to feature the 50MP Sony LYT-710 primary sensor. The main camera is accompanied by a 13MP ultra-wide lens that also handles macro and depth shots, along with a 32MP front camera for selfies. Up front, the device boasts a 144Hz 1.5K quad-curved display with a claimed 5,200 nits peak brightness and HDR10+ support.

The Edge 70 Fusion is backed by a large 7,000mAh battery with up to 52 hours of claimed usage and 68W fast charging support.

Based on what’s confirmed, the Edge 70 Fusion looks appealing for users who value long battery life and strong camera performance, especially for video consumption and everyday photography. However, if faster charging or a dedicated telephoto lens is a priority, it’s worth comparing alternatives in the same price range.

Realme Narzo Power

Realme is set to launch the Realme Narzo Power in India on February 5th, introducing the first ‘Power’ model in the Narzo lineup. The highlight is a massive 10,001mAh battery, claimed to deliver up to 38 days of standby and potentially multiple days of regular usage on a single charge. It supports 80W fast charging, said to hit 50 percent in 36 minutes, along with 27W reverse charging, allowing it to function as a power bank. The phone weighs 219g and closely resembles the Realme P4 Power.

Under the hood, it is powered by the Dimensity 7400 Ultra chipset paired with a HyperVision+ AI chip. It features a 144Hz HyperGlow display with up to 6,500 nits peak brightness, HDR10+, and Netflix HDR support. On the camera front, the device packs a 50MP Sony IMX882 OIS sensor and includes AI features such as AI Hyper Clarity, AI Hyper Motion, AI Always-On HDR, AI Instant Clip, AI LightMe, and AI StyleMe. The smartphone will ship with realme UI 7.0 based on Android 16 and is promised to receive three OS upgrades and four years of security updates.

The Realme Narzo Power stands out primarily for its massive battery, making it a great pick for travellers and heavy users who prioritise endurance. A full review will reveal more about its overall performance, but if battery life is your top concern, it’s worth considering.

Realme C83 5G

Realme is set to launch the Realme C83 5G on March 7th. The smartphone will pack a large 7,000mAh battery that is claimed to still retain up to 50 percent charge even after an entire day of usage. Realme is also promising up to six years of battery health, along with features such as Bypass Charging, AI Power Saving, and reverse wired charging.

On the durability front, the device is said to offer military-grade shock resistance with ArmorShell protection and an IP64 rating for dust and water resistance. It will sport a 144Hz display and arrive in Blooming Green and Sprouting Green colour options.

There’s not much we know about the Realme C83 5G yet, but it appears to be a budget phone with a large battery and a smooth display. More details about the phone will give us a better idea of what to expect from it, and who it’s meant for.

iPhone 17e (expected)

Apple is expected to unveil the iPhone 17e this week as its new “low-cost” iPhone. Unlike its predecessor, the device is rumoured to adopt the Dynamic Island, bringing it closer in design to the flagship iPhone 17 series, while otherwise retaining a similar look to the iPhone 16e with a single rear camera, side-mounted power button, volume keys, and the Action button. A new purple colour option could join the existing white and black variants.

The iPhone 17e is tipped to run on the A19 chip, the same processor as the standard iPhone 17, suggesting flagship-level performance. It may feature a 6.1-inch 60Hz display with Dynamic Island and could use the same 48MP Fusion camera capable of capturing 24MP and 48MP photos. Apple is also expected to add MagSafe support this time, addressing a key omission from the previous model. Pricing is rumoured to remain unchanged at $699, which could translate to around Rs 59,900 in India.

If the iPhone 17e launches this week, it should be available soon. It makes sense for buyers who want a more affordable iPhone with balanced performance and the iOS experience, while those seeking better cameras or a higher-end display may need to look at pricier models.
