The Vivo S70 has appeared in another leak, and this time it includes detailed smartphone specifications. Vivo is expected to launch the S70 in China soon, as early as November. Vivo’s S series is known for offering flagship-level hardware with a stylish design and premium cameras. Vivo could take things up a notch this time by introducing teleconverter support and a bigger telephoto sensor on the S70.
Vivo S70 will reportedly feature a 6.59-inch 1.5K LTPS OLED display, according to tipster Digital Chat Station. The mentioned post doesn’t reveal the shared details at the moment, but a screenshot captured by GizmoChina confirms it. The display specs are the same as the Vivo S60, although we’re not sure if the refresh rate or brightness levels would be increased.
The smartphone is tipped to feature the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4, which would be a generational upgrade over the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3. This should result in performance improvements in comparison to the Vivo S60.
In the camera department, the Vivo S70 is tipped to get a 50MP main camera, an 8MP ultra-wide, and a 64MP Sony LYT-610 periscope telephoto lens. It could feature a 50MP front camera for selfies. Here, the upgrade would be the 64MP telephoto lens over the Vivo S60’s 50MP lens, which should result in better portraits and detailed zoom shots. We’re yet to know the optical zoom support, though.
The Vivo S70 is also said to come with support for a 200mm teleconverter, which would be a first for the S series. Vivo has so far kept this feature exclusive to its flagship lineup and introduced it on the X300 FE earlier this year. With teleconverter support, the Vivo S70 would have an advantage over rival premium mid-rangers by giving users the flagship experience.
If a camera-centric phone is on your list, the Vivo S70 could be worth waiting for, especially with the telephoto extender support.
