Vivo is set to launch the Vivo T5 Pro 5G in India on April 15th at 12 noon IST. The phone will be the second model in the T5 lineup, following the Vivo T5x 5G that arrived in March. It will go on sale via Flipkart soon after launch, with a dedicated microsite already live.
The T5 Pro succeeds last year’s Vivo T4 Pro, which started at Rs 27,999 and stood out for combining performance with a periscope camera. This year, Vivo is building the phone around battery capacity, while moving it into a slightly higher price bracket. With the launch around the corner, here’s what has been confirmed so far.

Vivo T5 Pro could get a price bump
Vivo hasn’t officially confirmed pricing yet, but disclosures on the Flipkart listing suggest the T5 Pro will be priced under Rs 37,000. A tipster pointed to a starting price of around Rs 30,000, going up to Rs 36,999 for higher variants. That places it above the predecessor, the T4 Pro, and closer to devices like the OnePlus Nord 6, Redmi Note 15 Pro series, and the Realme 16 Pro models, which compete around the Rs 35,000 mark.
Design gets simpler
The Vivo T5 Pro uses a flatter frame with a matte-like finish and will be available in Cosmic Black and Glacier Blue. The camera module is more compact, with two large lenses inside a rounded rectangular island. The Aura Light ring from the T4 Pro is missing. The result is a cleaner look, but also one that blends in more easily with other phones in this segment. For durability, the phone retains IP68 and IP69 ratings and adds military-grade certification.
Display gets smoother and more fluid
The Vivo T5 Pro will feature a 6.8-inch AMOLED display with 1.5K resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate, up from 120Hz on the T4 Pro. Vivo is also claiming up to 5,000 nits of local peak brightness, along with SGS certifications for low blue light and flicker. The bump in refresh rate is commendable, matching the higher range in the segment. However, it’s a tad below the Nord 6’s 165Hz scree, though the difference is not going to be visible in daily use.
Performance takes a hit
The Vivo T5 Pro is confirmed to use a Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chipset, which sits below the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 used in the T4 Pro. Early benchmark scores suggest slightly lower peak performance. Instead of pushing performance higher, Vivo appears to be tuning for efficiency and stability. That works for everyday use and longer sessions, but it also means this isn’t a performance-first ‘Pro’ update in the usual sense. Vivo has confirmed 120fps gaming support, which aligns with that focus on consistency rather than peak output.
Mega battery bump
The battery is the defining feature of the Vivo T5 Pro. The phone is confirmed to pack a 9,020mAh unit, a significant jump from the 6,500mAh battery on the T4 Pro and well above the 6,000mAh-7,000mAh range most phones in this segment currently offer. It also brings it in line with the OnePlus Nord 6, which introduced a 9,000mAh battery in this category. Vivo is now matching that approach, pointing to a broader shift where battery capacity is becoming a key battleground in this price range.
The phone supports 90W fast charging, along with reverse wired and bypass charging. Vivo claims a thickness of 8.25 mm, suggesting the larger battery hasn’t come with a proportional increase in size.
Camera specs take a hit
The camera setup moves in the opposite direction. The T5 Pro is expected to feature a 50MP main sensor and a 2MP bokeh lens, along with a 32MP front camera. The T4 Pro included a 50MP periscope telephoto camera, which is missing here. At a likely Rs 30,000 – Rs 37,000 price point, that absence is noticeable. Phones in this range are starting to experiment with more flexible zoom setups, and dropping the periscope narrows what the camera can do compared to the previous model.
Software
The phone is expected to run OriginOS based on Android 15, with features like AI Transcript Assist, AI Creation tools, Origin Island, and support for Google Gemini.
Who is the Vivo T5 Pro for?
The trade-off is easier to spot. You’re getting a larger battery and steady performance, but not an upgrade in camera flexibility or peak performance over the T4 Pro. Phones like the Redmi Note 15 Pro series are likely to feel more balanced overall, even if they do not match this battery size. So the decision comes down to usage. If your day revolves around long screen time, gaming, or travel without frequent charging, the T5 Pro fits that need directly. If you want a more rounded upgrade across performance, cameras, and features, it’s worth comparing options before deciding.
