Vivo X300 FE tipped to launch at a higher price than the Vivo X300

Highlights
  • The Vivo X300 FE is launching alongside the X300 Ultra in India on May 6th.
  • The phone is tipped to launch just under Rs 80,000.
  • The Vivo X300 launched in India at Rs 75,999 in December last year.

In the past, Vivo’s FE models have been easy to place in the lineup. The main model arrives first, and a few months later the FE version follows at a lower price with broadly similar fundamentals. The latest details around the Vivo X300 FE suggest that pattern may not apply this time.

Vivo X300 FE expected pricing and availability

According to tipster Sanju Choudhary, the Vivo X300 FE could carry a box MRP of Rs 1,19,999, with an expected launch price around Rs 79,999 for the 12GB + 256GB variant. What’s interesting is that that puts it right above the standard Vivo X300, which launched in India in December 2025 starting at Rs 75,999. If the leaked price is true, it makes the X300 FE more expensive than the phone it is nominally derived from. Calling it the affordable variant at that price is a stretch, and buyers will reasonably question what exactly the FE designation means here.

To put things in context, look at last year’s lineup. The Vivo X200 launched at Rs 65,999 in December 2024, and the X200 FE followed at Rs 54,999 in July 2025 as the more affordable option. In the current cycle, the FE model may end up priced slightly higher than the main X300, despite carrying the “affordable Fan Edition” label. The tipster attributes the increase to rising memory costs, and adds that if the X300 were introduced under current component pricing, it might have landed closer to Rs 95,000 – Rs 1,00,000.

At around Rs 80,000, the X300 FE enters the same range as premium offerings such as Samsung’s S26 and the OnePlus 15, while also competing directly with Vivo’s own flagship.

The FE has a newer and more powerful chip in the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5, a larger battery, and adds wireless charging which the standard X300 lacks. But it gives up Vivo’s headline 200MP ZEISS primary camera and drops the ultrawide from 50MP to 8MP. For a phone positioned as a camera flagship derivative, that is a significant trade-off.

Earlier FE models worked as a lower-cost alternative within the same series. With the X300 FE, pricing brings it into direct comparison with the X300. That makes the decision less about budget and more about what matters day to day. A larger battery and Snapdragon chip point toward the FE. Camera hardware and a more conventional flagship positioning still sit with the X300. Final pricing will determine how close the two get in the market.
