Vivo X500 series receives BIS certification, hints at imminent India launch

Highlights
  • All three Vivo X500 series phones have been certified by BIS.
  • Vivo is tipped to launch the X500 series in India by the end of November.
  • Vivo’s X500 series is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9600 series chipset.

Vivo’s flagship X500 series launched in China last month and made its global debut in October. The Vivo X500 series is tipped to arrive in India as well, with the launch reportedly set for late November. This timeline could be accurate, as the Vivo X500 series has appeared on the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) certification website, suggesting its imminent launch.

Vivo X500 series BIS listing

Three new Vivo smartphones have been certified on the BIS platform. These Vivo phones carry the model numbers V2619, V2621, and V2610. First spotted by Xpertpick, these phones are said to belong to the Vivo X500, X500 Pro, and X500 Pro Max. The BIS listings don’t reveal any details, but it’s the closest we can get before an official confirmation of the Vivo X500 series in India.

More importantly, all three phones are certified, so it looks like Vivo is going to have a fully stacked flagship portfolio in India.

Vivo X500 series: what to expect

Vivo’s flagship series comes with MediaTek’s latest chipsets, with the X500 using the Dimensity 9600M, and the Dimensity 9600 Pro on the X500 Pro and X500 Pro Max. Battery capacities range from 6,510mAh to 7,800mAh, with 90W wired and 40W wireless charging across the lineup. All three phones run Android 17-based OriginOS 7 out of the box.

The Vivo X500 series stands out for its camera hardware. Starting with the top-end Vivo X500 Pro Max, it has a 50MP main camera, a 200MP periscope telephoto lens with 3.5x optical zoom, CIPA 7.0 professional-grade stabilisation, and a 50MP ultra-wide camera. The X500 Pro has the same main camera paired with a 64MP periscope lens that offers 3.5x optical zoom and OIS, and the same ultra-wide lens too. The standard X500 has a 50MP main camera, alongside a 64MP telephoto lens and a 50MP ultra-wide camera.

Since it’s more or less confirmed that the Vivo X500 series is coming, the lineup makes sense to wait for if you want ultimate camera flagships. But do keep in mind that prices are going to be different and on the higher side. It would also be wise to compare the Vivo X500 series with competing flagships like the OPPO Find X10 and Find X10 Pro Max, which use the same chipsets and also offer solid cameras.
