As the affordable mid-range smartphone segment gets more competitive, OPPO is joining the fight with the K14 Plus. Launched today at Rs 29,999, the smartphone promises strong performance, long battery life, and a vivid, high-resolution display, all packed in a durable build. With the device delivered and unboxed right before launch, here are my initial impressions and thoughts on the OPPO K14 Plus, along with how it stacks up against its rivals on paper.

Durable build, charming AMOLED display
The OPPO K14 Plus arrives in two colourways, Star White, which we received for review, and Solar Orange. Built entirely from polycarbonate, both options flaunt a smooth finish with a marble-like texture, housed in a boxy chassis with flat sides. The smartphone retains the K14 series’ identity with a pill-shaped camera module reminiscent of the vanilla OPPO K14 and K14x. Despite its beefy 8,000mAh battery, the phone feels relatively light in hand, weighing 208g.
Upfront, there’s a flat 6.7-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with up to a 144Hz refresh rate, 1,800 nits high brightness, and 3,600 nits peak brightness, paired with the support of Splash Touch for interacting with the screen even with wet fingers. This seems to be a capable display for sharp visuals and smooth and fluid experience while scrolling.
Optimistic performance and endurance
Running on the MediaTek Dimensity 7360 MAX, the OPPO K14 Plus isn’t chasing top-tier performance. Instead, it offers a solid level for most use cases, like medium-intensive gaming and multitasking, while delivering strong battery endurance with an 8,000mAh cell on board. While we haven’t run benchmarks yet, OPPO claims the smartphone can score over 1 million on AnTuTu, which is a tad higher than the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 found in the similarly priced POCO X8.
The processor is paired with a 5,000mm2 vapour chamber, UFS 3.1 storage and LPDDR4X RAM, all of which should work in tandem to deliver a smooth, flowing experience in the long run. The phone comes in three storage variants, including 6+128GB, 8+128GB, and 8+256GB. With the display supporting up to a 144Hz refresh rate, the OPPO K14 Plus should deliver a satisfactory gaming experience with no hiccups or stutters.
As mentioned above, with an 8,000mAh battery, the OPPO K14 Plus is built to last, providing hours of gameplay, video watching, and app use on a single charge. The smartphone is claimed to last over 12 hours of continuous BGMI gameplay at 60 frames per second and over 20 hours of YouTube on a full charge. Latest Android version with capable camera hardware
On to the software, which is a rather interesting bit, the OPPO K14 Plus runs ColorOS 16.5 based on Android 17, making it the first OPPO smartphone in India to release with the latest Android version out of the box. You get the usual ColorOS niceties, such as the vast lockscreen clock and homescreen customisation options, and an AI suite that features tons of imaging and productivity features, such as AI Recompose, AI Eraser, AI Portrait Glow, AI Writing and Translation, and more.
Closing thoughts
Starting at Rs 29,999 for the base 6GB RAM with 128GB storage variant, the OPPO K14 Plus directly rivals the POCO X8 and is slightly more affordable than the Motorola Edge 70 Fusion. While the smartphone may not have an in-built fan like last year’s K13 Turbo, it still seems capable enough to deliver an enjoyable gaming experience with a 144Hz refresh rate, a large vapour chamber, and fast UFS storage speeds.
On the optics, though, the K14 Plus misses out on an ultrawide lens. That said, a full review of the OPPO K14 Plus will be up on 91mobiles very soon with detailed findings, so stay tuned.
