From our experience of using the Redmi Note 15’s main camera, the phone shines in daylight with well-detailed images, courtesy of the relatively large sensor and wide aperture. Colour reproduction is vibrant yet controlled, avoiding over-saturation. It also does a good job in recovering details from shadows or dark areas, while the dynamic range performs reliably in most scenarios.
Long-term software commitment
Even though the Redmi Note 15 runs on Android 15, which has been out for over a year, it gets a long software commitment. The Redmi smartphone will receive four OS upgrades along with six years of security updates, a significantly improved update longevity over the Redmi Note 14 5G. Android 16, the latest Android version out there, is now commonly pre-loaded on the latest smartphones across price ranges. However, the Redmi Note 15 ships with Android 15 at the time of its launch, even though several budget and midrange Xiaomi handsets have lately been receiving the Android 16-based HyperOS 3 update.
