Dell launches Pro Precision workstation portfolio and Deskside Agentic AI in India, starting at Rs 89,000

Dell Technologies has launched its new Pro Precision workstation lineup in India, introducing the Dell Deskside Agentic AI. This solution helps businesses run agentic AI workflows locally instead of using the cloud. The portfolio is aimed at engineers, architects, designers, creators, and power users on both mobile and desktop devices.

Why local AI compute is becoming a priority

Dell argues that cloud-only AI strategies are getting less viable at scale. As agentic AI workflows increase token usage quickly, cloud costs can rise sharply, even with decreasing per-token prices. Dell claims its Deskside Agentic AI can cut spending by up to 87% compared to cloud APIs over two years. This figure is significant for IT and finance leaders assessing long-term AI infrastructure costs.

An IDC study commissioned by Dell and Intel found that 95% of respondents across Asia Pacific believe workstations will play a critical role in AI initiatives in the next two years. In India, 95% of organisations surveyed reported increased productivity among workstation users, and 76% expect workstations to represent a larger share of their device fleet in the next five years.

The Pro Precision lineup

The portfolio includes four distinct product lines catering to various performance tiers and use cases.

The Dell Pro Precision 5 Series 14S and 16S are the thinnest and lightest workstations Dell has created, with the 14S weighing only 1.4kg. They feature a three-sided aluminium chassis and come with Intel Core Ultra Series 3 processors with integrated Intel Arc Pro graphics or AMD Ryzen AI 400 processors with AMD Radeon PRO graphics. With up to 64GB of 8533 MT/s LPCAMM2 memory and ISV certification, these can handle demanding professional software in a portable form. They will be available starting August 10, 2026.

The Pro Precision 5 Series 14 and 16 target skilled industry professionals, equipped with Intel Core Ultra 9 Series 3 processors and a 50 TOPS NPU for on-device AI tasks. The 5 14 offers optional NVIDIA RTX 500 Blackwell graphics and up to 2TB of Gen 5 storage. The 5 16 upgrades to optional NVIDIA RTX Pro 2000 Blackwell graphics and up to 4TB of storage.

The Pro Precision 7 Series focuses on higher-performance mobile workstations. The 7 14 weighs 1.59kg and runs 45W Intel Core Ultra processors with up to NVIDIA RTX PRO 2000 Blackwell graphics, 64GB of memory, and up to 4TB of storage. The 7 16 has 50W processors with an integrated 50 TOPS NPU, up to NVIDIA RTX PRO 3000 Blackwell graphics, and up to 8TB of PCIe Gen 5 storage. This configuration is suitable for AI development, simulation, and visualisation workloads that heavily use both CPU and GPU.

The Pro Precision 7 T1 is the desktop model in the lineup, featuring Intel Core Ultra Series 2 processors with a dedicated NPU for AI-accelerated workflows.

Dell Deskside Agentic AI

The Deskside Agentic AI solution has two hardware configurations. The Dell Pro Max with GB10 is aimed at individual agent prototyping on a small scale, supporting models from 30 billion to 200 billion parameters.

The Dell Pro Max with GB300 is the more powerful variant, equipped with NVIDIA’s GB300 Grace Blackwell Ultra Desktop Superchip and Dell’s MaxCool thermal management. It is designed for inference of advanced models ranging from 120 billion to 1 trillion parameters and is expected to become available later in 2026. This solution incorporates the NVIDIA NemoClaw open-source reference stack, CrowdStrike security, and Dell Services, covering the entire deployment process from prototyping to production.

Security and sustainability

The entire portfolio features enterprise-grade security through Trusted Platform Module 2.0, ControlVault 3 Plus Advanced Authentication with FIPS 140-3 certification, and Dell Trusted Workspaces for BIOS-level firmware protection and AI-driven threat detection. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 7, optional 4G or 5G on selected models, Thunderbolt 4, HDMI 2.1, and USB Type-C.

In terms of sustainability, select models have earned EPEAT Gold with Climate+ registration and ENERGY STAR certification, with 100% recycled or renewable packaging throughout the lineup.

Dell is intentionally positioning the workstation as more than just a high-performance device. The Deskside Agentic AI solution redefines the tower workstation as a local compute platform that can replace cloud dependencies for certain enterprise AI workflows. This shift is a significant repositioning that directly challenges the cloud-first approach that has dominated enterprise IT discussions over the past decade.
