LG to showcase AI-driven in-vehicle systems at CES 2026

Highlights

LG Electronics will exhibit multiple in-vehicle solutions using AI technology during the CES 2026 event in Las Vegas in January, giving a glimpse of the use of artificial intelligence in the automotive sector. LG says their automotive technologies have received the CES Best of Innovation Award for the In-Vehicle Entertainment honour, marking the first time the company’s vehicle solutions unit has gotten the award.

At the event, LG will demonstrate three main systems that apply AI to different parts of the in-car experience. These include a Mobility Display Solution, an Automotive Vision Solution, and an In-Vehicle Entertainment Solution.

One of the demonstrations will involve a transparent OLED display integrated into the windshield. LG says this display can show information such as traffic signal wait times directly in the driver’s view, without relying on a separate screen. In autonomous driving scenarios, the system can also analyse the surroundings and adjust on-screen visuals based on the driving environment.

LG will also show its Automotive Vision Solution, which focuses on what’s happening inside the cabin. The system tracks driver and passenger movement, gaze direction, and gestures in real time. Based on this, the vehicle can respond to changes in attention or behaviour. LG says one possible use is gaze recognition, where looking at something outside the car, such as an advertisement or landmark, could prompt related information to appear on a screen inside.

The In-Vehicle Entertainment Solution is designed to personalise content for passengers. LG says the system can recognise scenery and bring up photos linked to past trips or memories. Another feature being demonstrated is real-time sign language interpretation, which the company says could make in-car systems more accessible.

Alongside these demos, LG will introduce its AI Cabin Platform, an on-device AI system intended for automakers. The platform brings together several open-source AI models, including large language and vision-language models, within LG’s in-vehicle infotainment systems. Processing is handled on the device, which LG says can help with response times and reduce reliance on cloud connectivity.

LG will run three interactive experience zones at CES 2026, allowing visitors to see how the systems work in practice.
