Spigen Slim Armor Pro MagFit case for Google Pixel 11 Pro Fold review: solid protection

The Google Pixel 11 Pro Fold (review) might be the only IP68-rated foldable smartphone currently available in the Indian market, and boasts solid build quality too. That’s not to say it doesn’t need protection. The foldable is priced at Rs 1,86,999, and any phone that costs that much definitely needs to be protected. And when it comes to protection, you can hardly do better than Spigen’s Slim Armor Pro MagFit case. It’s priced at Rs 3,999, which isn’t a small amount to pay, but I think it makes for a worthwhile investment to protect your Pixel 11 Pro Fold.

Available in black, this case is an engineering marvel by itself. While most cases for foldable smartphones use two-part construction, this case is actually a single piece, featuring not one but two different hinges of its own. The main hinge on the case covers the phone’s hinge, and features a ridge pattern that aids grip.

Meanwhile, the slim portion of the case, which covers the front half (or the left half if the phone is unfolded), also uses hinges that attach to the rest of the case. Creating something like this definitely needs special engineering, and the case designers at Spigen deserve kudos for this.

Fashioned out of sturdy polycarbonate and TPU, the case is precision-made for the Pixel 11 Pro Fold, which means it fits the phone like a glove. The raised edges around the frame and the camera module offer protection from surface scratches, so using it day in and day out becomes worry-free. Air Cushion Technology offers protection from drops, something which is even more crucial for a foldable than conventional smartphones. Don’t get me wrong — I believe the phone brands when they say they’ve made their foldable smartphones sturdy, but accidents do happen, and I wouldn’t want to take any chances and put their claims to the test if I’m spending that kind of money. However, the case does add a bit of bulk, so that’s something you keep in mind.

Next, another useful feature boasted by the Slim Armor Pro MagFit case is the built-in magnets. So the case supports MagSafe and PixelSnap wireless charging, and you can use it with chargers that support this tech. You can also use magnetic accessories like mounts and wallets. The N52 magnets in the case ensure a strong, secure fit.

Verdict

The Slim Armor Pro MagFit case for Google Pixel 11 Pro Fold is a good showcase of Spigen’s expertise in making compelling cases that add protection, functionality, and aesthetics to your mobile device. Its asking price of Rs 3,999 puts it in the premium league, but you do need to consider that the device you’re considering buying it for is a pricey one and deserves a case that befits its premium positioning. The Slim Armor Pro MagFit case offers reliable protection and the MagSafe compatibility is quite useful too.
