Sharon Stone originally had the part of Stacy Mansdorf. But when Basic Instinct (1992) was a success, she backed out.

Rolling Stones drummer Charlie Watts appeared unbilled as the drummer in the jazz band at Harry's club.

Bob Hoskins' name doesn't appear in the opening credits, but only in the final ones. All this allowed for a total surprise when his character appears.

One of six movies that featured Bob Hoskins and Sir Michael Caine. The others being Last Orders (2001), Mona Lisa (1986), Sweet Liberty (1986), Beyond the Limit (1983), and World War II: When Lions Roared (1994).

Sir Ian Holm replaced Denholm Elliott.
