In 1993, Sunil Agnihotri was directing a film titled "Daava" Starring Naseeruddin Shah,Ronit Roy, Tisca Chopra, Tinnu Anand. The film was also shot in Canada. Produced by Canadian actor,producer Nasser Shabbo. He had previously acted in Gehri Chot in 1983. Daava was eventually shelved. Years later Sunil started another film with the same title but different star cast and producer.
The music that appears at 0:44 in the song "Music Only - Shloka" by Naseeruddin Shah that is played in the titles of the film Daava, was used in Jaanam Samjha Karo. The same beat appears in the song "Jaanam Samjha Karo " at 0:18.
There was a shelved film "Daawa"(1983) Starring Jeetendra, Reena Roy,Pran, Music by Laxmikant Pyarelal,Produced by Dr. M.P. Singh,Directed by Ravi Tandon.
The film did not have a theatrical release in British Columbia,Canada.
